So far we have had the warmest winter since 1900 or so. Now my part of the world is covered in a sheet of glazed ice, the worst in 30 years. The silence is broken only by ice falling off the trees, no traffic, no aeroplanes to the nearby airport. Hubby went to the mailbox to get the morning paper. He fell flat on his back (no harm done), the paper boy had been cleverer than he was.

Well, it makes home a good place to be. I had to read a lot of papers for a meeting to night. As that has just been cancelled I'll get digitising or embroidering or both.
Have a great day!

I really do hope your husband is okay. Seems there have been more than enough falls... It's cold here but no ice, thank goodness, although I'm not getting out. Guess if the weather/roads are iced, its a good thing your meetings canceled, and also good for us. We get to see what you create! I know it will be something unique. Take care -Toogie

I noticed you saw GerryvB's pictures - the kids love it and are skating in our street too. Hubby is OK, he did some shopping today on on sktes but walking rather carefully.

Thank you all, hubby is fine only a stiff and sore neck. Could have been much worse at his age (almost 79)
I gather strange weather patterns everywhere. I really commisserate with all who have to deal with floods or fires. Our ice is providing great fun for the kids, they are skating in the streets.
Flowers for all of you, and cyber hugs!

Ice can be so dangerous. I am glad he is not hurt. We are having some nice weather and I hope the rest of the winter complies.

Our weather here in Michigan has been strange too!! We didn't have a white Christmas! Then we had a horrible ice storm that went on for about 30 hours (lost power for 7 hours or so). Now our temp is in the teens with lots of snow. Later this week - we will be in the 40's (fahrenheit). My DH slipped outside this morning too - just down on his hip - he is fine - but, it shocked him as he is so surefooted! I am with you, Martine - I have lots to do inside to keep me busy - the ice is the worse part about winter here! Hope your hubby is feeling okay!! Hugs, Laura*

I hope hubby is OK. Soreness often comes a couple of days later. Enjoy the warmth of your home.
Finally storming here. The rain is very much needed, so I will not mind getting soaked taking my dog for a walk.

The weather world wide seems to be going crazy. It is just so hot here in S. Africa and just no rain. Please take care in the ice.

A glazing of ice can be so beautiful, but so deadly. I do hope your hubby feels better. Falls are so scary. Enjoy the warmth of your home and your software. Can't wait to see what you design.

Baby it's cold outside!
Sounds like someone may need a good Epsom salt soak. I hope he's O.K.

We are back to more normal temperatures here in England, but still above freezing. Grey and miserable!

Your right, weather is out of tune everywhere. People were golfing here on the 24th and 25th of December and températures were 18 to 20 degrees above normal. On the 23rd, I finished my otside decor in a short sleeved T-shirt and was more than comfortable. Our planet is trying to tell us to look after it better, we just don't seem to be listening.
Today we are back to normal with -22 degrees. Brrrrr it's cold outside.
hugs
Michelle

Hi Martine,

And down here in Newcastle, Australia we've had the wettest few days for ages. Weather is weird all over the planet. I hope hubby is o.k. he might be sore today or tomorrow.

I'm staying home tomorrow as it's just too wet and as you say home is a good place to be. I might finish off what I'm making at the moment! Love Chris
