Love your fix Sarah, think the pocket would look great with some on it also. I love daisies. Hope one day we find out what causes the holes/Lillian
Lillian, I am a little scared to take the pocket off. The material is so thin and stretchy. I think I would be chancing my luck. It is a good idea though
I understand fully Sarah. I think you did a top notch job . Looks a lot more expensive with the daisies on it.
This is very cute! The designs add to the shirt. It's timely that I see this now... I noticed last night that the shirt that I was wearing had two small holes almost dead center at my waistline. I'm going to try your "rescue" technique! (It's one of my favorite shirts... lightweight, longsleeve red tee)
You have done a great job in fixing it. Love it. I have read about the holes and have wondered about it. Could it not be the plastic string to which the shops attach the price tag that caused it. The reason why I thought it might be the problem is that I have bought a table runner with the price tag on it. It was folded and put into my stash. Was there for probably 3 or 4 months before I had time to embroider on it. After the wash (to get rid of the solvy) I ironed it I noticed it had these two little holes all over almost in a row near to the fold lines and then I noticed it was where the price tag was and the upper and lower part of the plastic must have pressured it to cause the holes. The fabric was a very fine linen. Mine was ruined but now I use it at the outside braai area as I do not feel to sorry for it.
Thank you for your post. I am totally mystified re the holes.
I have never had a problem down her in Knysna. This happened in Johannesburg.
Yes - could be the sudden change in climate (?) having an effect on everything. Do not know if you also have these terrible heatwaves. Have to say that I really suffer as I am not used to it and for the first time I actually felt the weather in the Southern Cape more acceptable during our annual Dec holiday break. As a matter of interest the heat this week was so bad up here that one of our radio stations had lost transmission as some of there equipment was faulty - they say because of the heat. Even some of the cellular network servers bombed out.
That looks lovely as though it was always there and part of the shirt from the beginning.
I hope you have sprayed the offending piece of furniture to get rid of the insect that had a feed on your shirt.
Thank you. It happened at my daughters and she says she is getting pest control in.
Looks like it came on the shirt! You not only saved it, you improved it!
Glad you were able to save the shirt! I get holes in things with no clue how they got there. But our machines really do save the day.
This is a good idea. I have a tshirt too with a hole on the shoulder but it is very stretchy.
This T was also very stretchy. My advice would be - do not use a design with too many stitches. I felt I had nothing to loose and now I can at least get a bit of wear out of it.
Well done - bet you are proud of yourself and show anyone around what you did.
Great, Looks like it was that way from the start.
Great save. Now I hope whatever was nibbling on the material will stop.
Great save and no pucker on a light weight fabric. All around success! mk
