Hi
I look at other brands, get their best price and the goodies they will throw in, then go to the one brand I really want and tell them I have not decided on a brand yet, but that the other brand is prepared to give me a very special price with all the goodies thrown in. But I will buy this machine if they throw in the hoops etc...
That normally helped me to get the goodies (like the hoops) thrown in as part of the deal for the brand I really want. These machines are expensive, and if they want the deal, they will try to accomodate you...
It is worth trying over there. Mine gave me lot of extra stuff - 15 spools of 1000m thread, hoops, etc.
Good luck with your shopping!
Santa delivered mine early, and i just love it. Have had an elna 8600 for quite a few years, and the new one with larger hoops is wonderful. I have already used up the bobbin thread in the gift package, sews like a dream. So far have had NO problems at all, the only thing i have adjusted is the bobbin thread settings. There was way too much thread left when the message came up (not enough thread to finish your project) I think i will turn the setting of altogether soon. Yes you do get a goodies bag with your purchase seems some dealers give more than others in Australia. How ever you will not get the extra hoops SQ14b is $129.00 and Re 20b is $149 the only one available at this time they are still on order. Needles, larger scissors, bobbin threads, bobbins (25), stabilisers, a usb and as many lessons as you want also came with mine..with some things actually in the box already. My dealer in Albury N.S.W. is very helpful and is always there at the end at the phone, for any issues, so far i am thrilled with my purchase. Would be interested to hear how you get on , and what gifts you did get. If i can be of any help send me a pm. Sandra.
Thanks for info regarding bobbin thread. My 350e warns me when it is still half full. Good to see it can be turned off.
Having just bought a new machine, I found myself being seduced by all the wonderful things they can do. So ask yourself, do you really need or will use all those bells and whistles? The one thing that ruled out any machine was whether or not I could lift it. If I couldn't lift it, I'd never be able to get it into my car when it needs serviceing, or move it where I wanted. Some thing when I get a dog...I get a dog that I can lift too!
Yes that is very good advice and something I hadn't really thought about. It Is also the same reason we have chihuahuas!
I have a Babylocl Ellegante, and there's no way I could lift it with the cover on. I put my left arm through under the throat, and cross my right arm over the left, hugging it to my body, and then put the cover over it when I get it in the car.
I don't have this machine...but if you are considering purchasing...you should have the dealer throw in the extra hoops in the deal...I have found that most will do this to make the large sale...I have never had a dealer refuse to give me the "extras"...have them give you the price and then "ponder" it and then add...well, I would do it if you would include the other hoops that are available....I would be surprised if they said no....but if you do negotiate...you need to be ready to buy! Also, my dealer will sell me his "floor model" at a used price...ask about that too!!!
This machine was only released in October 2015 in Australia it was only supplied with the 2 large hoops. Where as in America they got 4 hoops. The 2 we didn't get have just been released here to buy so doubt if any dealer would give them as a bonus. They usually throw in a bonus pack with the machine consisting of scissor, bobbins and bobbin thread.
Oh I see..but, now that the other hoops are available in Australia...no harm in asking for a deal...
I bought the 500E and really like it. Having the larger hoops is great I am also in Australia so only got the 2 hoops.
The other 3 sizes are now available RE10b @ $115 SQ14b @ $125 RE20b @ $145.
I have the 300E and didn't trade it in so feel I have the best of both worlds. I did have a bit of trouble using the needle threader to start but now no problem. This machine does take up a lot of table space. In the shop it didn't look nearly as big so take that into consideration. I love the machine. Good value for the money.
There is a new Brother machine out that is free arm but the price is so much more around the $6,000 looks good in the demo video.
Thanks for this info. My local shop has offered a good deal on the machine. So if I bought the other hoops too it would almost bring it up to rrp. So that would be a good deal I think. I am doing a big sort in my sewing room so I am planning on making room
The table I have mine sitting on is 90cm wide and 60 cm deep. It is not the machine that takes up all the space but the support table for the frames.
