Just saw a tip on Facebook on how to get rid of the fuzzies on Applique designs. They say to use a heat gun to remove them. They also mention using a lighter, but I like the idea of the heat gun instead.

I use the stencil cutter. It heats up and melts off the edged safely... I don't think I would trust open flames either,

Thank you, another interesting way...

Heat guns burn wood when using them to remove paint! For safety's sake, why not try an ordinary blow dryer for hair instead?

A hair dryer doesn't get hot enough, I am told

I don't know why she doesn't use soluble stabiliser for her in the hoop designs. I bought that design and that is what I will use. If you use poly thread heat will melt it.

I use WSS and I still get fuzzies, no matter how hard I try. I clip very very close to the stitch line, but there always seems to be a few threads pop out. I have even put Clear WSS topping over the design. Just can't get a nice clean edge.

Have you tried carefully running a wet cotton tip along the edge after you have trimmed?

Don't know about the heat gun. I do however think the iron on heat bond produces a wrinkle free applique and has a much cleaner cut. Even iron on pelon will work, too. Kay

I use these both as well, but there are still some fuzzies hanging around.

I have a stencil cutter and I use it all the time...works really well...Jenny Haskins has been doing this for years...not sure if it is the same thing as a heat gun...

I don't have a stencil cutter, so the heat gun will have to do.

Those heat guns can get pretty hot, it may just melt more than just the fuzzies. I would be very careful
