Boogie, you are an inspiration for all of us! I just love your work and your wonderful creativity! This wallet is terrific! Hugs, Joyce
Oh Joyce, you give me too much credit,I just followed the pattern. The link is in Community/Sewing, for the pattern, with another wallet post. The instructions are very easy to follow. You should make one. If you need any help, I'm here off and on, just pm me.Have a good Sunday, I'm leaving this morning but will be back on later.-Toogie
I am SO sorry Toogie! I swear I typed your name correctly, but just saw that it was NOT! Please for give me! Hugs, Joyce
Wow so great, extremely professional indeed...very pretty and useful.
Wonderful wallet and checkbook holder. You must have a very good friend that brought you a box of fabric. It's a beautiful floral print. I am looking more and more at going to visit Good Will and maybe this year try yard sale visits. I am more in tune now to recycling clothes for the pretty buttons and fabrics. Went to a class yesterday in another county and a woman made a beautiful jacket out of [I don't know how many] wool and wool blend sweaters she's bought at 2nd hand store. Gorgeous--they were all flat pieced together--I am drooling--can you tell? I love your project and yes, your name tag is the final polish on a great job. Going to have to try this label making at some point.
The lady that gives me the fabric is in my class, on Sunday morning. Her mom, Mrs Eunice, quilted and recently died. It is her stash that I keep getting from. They started giving me fabric, hardback quilting books, etc when Mrs. Eunice stopped quilting, a few years back. She was in her 90's. My son is friends and neighbors with the son of Mrs. Eunice, so we know the family. They know I sew, so I am fortunate, to receive all this. These fabrics are new, but I do recycle too sometimes. Always good to find a new purpose for things.
I love it and I like the monogrammed Toogie. What size hoop did this take? Kay
No hoop for the wallet, just the name Toogie, and I could probably make about 9 at a time, in my 5x7 hoop. I just used a narrow piece of cut-a-way so I made 3 down the length.
This is so cool, Toogie!! Just love the colors and the combination of the colors!! So well done!
Thank you Laura. I just finished another one for my SIL's mom to match a bag I made her,
Love it.. agree about the floral fabric and your choice of fabric coordinated is perfect. Glad you posted in both places..
You did a sensational job sewing it.
Love your name tag looks so professional just like a bought purse. Beautiful work you do.
Very good job and lovely fabric. Congratulations.
Stunning work done!!!!So Beautiful!!!!Fantastic work....
Beautiful work Toogie! What sort of interfacing/stiffener do you use for your purses and wallets. They are always so gorgeous.
I use iron on Pellon 809 Decor Bond in my wallets and some of my purses. It is 45' wide :) and $4.99 yard at Hancock Fabrics BUT don't pay that. They have coupons!-Thank you for your comments and question.-Toogie
Thanks Toogie.... We don't have Hancock in this area, but I'm sure that JoAnns or Hobby Lobby will have it. And I definitely use their coupons!
I'm sure they will have it too. We don't have a JoAnns but we have Hobby Lobby! Yes, always use those coupons!!!!!
Beautiful job on this wallet, Toogie...you do such an amazing job on your purses and wallets...love your tag, too!!
Great fabric, and lovely wallet. I love all your purses, they are so colorful. Well done.
lol-I'm laughing because I just told Chris, the older I get, the brighter colors I like! Maybe I can see them better-lol-I'm glad you like my purses and how do you like my name tag? A Cutie made it for me, as I told her my librarian wanted me to put my 'brand' on! Thanks again Cutie!
I like it a lot! You make the best purses and wallets.
What a beautiful job you've done! Also a great way to use the fabric you were given.
WOW, you have done a great job, Toogie! Love everything, congratulations.
Hugs, Lidia
This little purse is awesome Toogie. I'm always amazed at how many ways these little purses can be done. Love the colour choices on these. Congratulations and keep resting your leg. Love Chris
My leg stays put. My chair has a leg rest that it straight out from the hip, so....Anyway, I figured you and you know who (Carolyn) would like the color. The lady had some really pretty pieces in the box. Feels good to sew, doesn't it. I just looked at your orange mat!
Thank you for stating that you name tag was machine embroidered. It is a beautiful project and does fit in either category. Love the fabrics you chose. I love sewing projects and if I would look for something to motivate me, when the creative juices are not running, I would never find this one, because I would look in sewing.
I'm glad you like the fabrics and its a shame you don't look here in Projects, to motivate you. There are a lot of nice projects here, that I'm sure motivate others. Cuties post such beautiful Projects. Have a good night.-Toogie
I do that as well, but since I am old I forget. Actually as a moderator I have to look at everything and many times over. I let one of my machines embroider, while I am sewing on the other. So I look for motivation for both. Yes Cuties are amazing. I wish I could leave more comments on all the wonderful projects I see,
Great job and such pretty fabrics. Is picture #4 a separate check book cover?
I came back to say, I think I cut the checkbook 7 1/2 in x 14 1/2 in. Cut two fabrics and 1 Pellon-Iron Pellon 809 on ONE wrong side. Lay fabric right side together & sew all four sides EXCEPT leave a small opening, for turning, on one end.- Decide which side will be your outer fabric, if you made it, with two different fabrics. Fold your short ends with your inside fabric RST, making the ends almost meet. (You want to leave about a 5/8 to 3/4 inch gap in between, to insert your checkbook and ledger.) Now topstitch along the long sides only. Finished!
Great job Toogie. Looks like you are back into sewing. Just take it easy and don't over do it.
You did a fantastic job. You stitching is SO straight. And the choice of fabric couldn't be prettier. Thank you for sharing your project with us.
You're welcome and I'm glad you got a chance to see. A Cutie helped by making my name for me and I like to embroider it on my things.
