Am I the only one or has anyone else noticed that just lately there are a lot of new people posting. Nice to see new ones but they ask a question and never come back to say if problem fixed or not. Also just seem to want designs for free and telling us not to be mean and share. Most have only posted once.

Maybe it is just me having a cranky day.

I really don't know the answer, but embroidery machines are more and more popular. When I bought my first machine I was buying the embroidery cards from my dealer and later found out in the classes that designs could be bought on line.. Everyone is new once. Let's be careful as not to hurt anyone's feelings with an ugly answer. Kay

I agree with Sue. It took me time to understand how to post and how to get to the answers. This site has so many nooks and crannies and goodies, it can be overwhelming.

There is always a steady flow of newbies. Some take the trouble to find out how things work, but many don't so they may not even know how to see their answers.
It mystifies me how newbies manage to find a post from 4 or 5 years ago and bring it back up to the top, and are then never seen again! (There is at least one example in Projects right now.)

I'm not sure how the older post are brought either. Also , who are the gremlins that mess up our voting? Kay

Yes i agree, a lot of newbies do not acknowledge the helpers or water gardens. I do not think they are reading enough of how the site works. It is nice to be recognised for your efforts to respond to their questions and help out where you can. Sandra..

Yes, it's obviously a change. Maybe we're getting more folks from outside United States who don't have the same copyright rules. or maybe they are just new to embroidery. We all had to learn sharing is illegal at some point.

Yes I remarked on one last week The person asked for help and a lot of people answered - one went into a lot of detail and there wasn't even an acknowledgement from the person who asked for help. I have noticed a decrease in posts these days and I think that is one of the reasons.

Hi, sewist1 - When I saw your response to this comment, I was fairly sure that you were referring to my answer to the question regarding the recommendation of the Viking SE machine. I went back and looked, just to be sure. I do appreciate your comment on my post. I do not feel badly that she has not acknowledged my attempt to help - perhaps she has not even seen the reply? I felt that since I have that machine and the information she was looking for, I had to share it. At one time I also needed much help, and over the years many generous folks and groups such as this one, have answered my questions, and have shared their tips and knowledge. As you probably know, I do not post very much, but if there is something I feel I can contribute, I am more than happy to do so. Others besides the original poster may have the same question, and could find the answers helpful. We all benefit when information is freely shared.
Thank you. Judy
