What a lucky, lucky girl to get to organize and furnish your room just the way you want it. It's going to be fabulous and your hubby is a catch for being able to do all of this work himself.
Thank you, Jerrilyn! I am lucky - I know that for sure! My DH has never put in a floor like that by himself, but did help on one before, so he felt confident he could do it - and it looks great! I think the floor will be a dream to scoot around on!! Hugs, Laura*
One advantage of pulling everything out is seeing what you have. I cleaned out one cabinet & was so surprised at how many "lost" items I "found"! Great flooring, you will love the ease of rolling from one machine to the other.
When I unloaded that room - I was blown away by what I found!!! I don't intend to let all those goodies be hidden anymore! The floor itself is such a blessing - Can't wait to use that room! Thanks!
Love what you doing to the place, the blue walls are a great shade very calming and with the new floors you can now wizz around from one machine to another with no problems. Look forward to the finished shots of you new domain. Have a great break and comeback with the inspiration needed to complete. Marian
Thank you!! I love the blue too!! I do intend to wizz around the floor. I ordered some non-marring casters to go on my rolling chair - what fun!!! I do promise to post finished pictures! Hugs to you, Laura*
This is going to be such a "Happy Place". Amazing the changes you have made. What a talented husband. Can't wait to see it all filled with your stash. I can not keep my craft room neat and tidy. I am too busy creating and not cleaning. I admire people that put everything back right away where it belongs.
Oh Angie, thank you for your kind words!! I am certain that it will get messy at some point - I just hope I don't let it get too bad! Hugs, Laura*
Lucky lady to be able to redo you favorite retreat room. Yes , I am convinced there should be no carpet in a sewing room. Also what a wonderful window you have. Can't wait to see more photos! Kay
I do know how lucky I am to have this room!!! The carpet removal is so exciting! I ordered soft casters for my rolling chair. They are suppose to be easy on Laminate. I hope to have some peg board installed too!! Thanks Kay!!
You have made a great start on your craft room .Being away from it for awhile will give you time to work out how to make the best use of all the space for your needs.Plenty of shelves in the cupboard are a must, otherwise you will be moving stacked boxes around to get at things you want for a project.Looking forward ,to seeing a photo of the finished room
I do need the time to think storage through as my budget is getting very low!! I may reuse some things around the house!! I promise to show the finished project!! Thanks!!
The room is going to be so beautiful. I think all our rooms look like that until we redo them. Hehehe
Thank you, Suzanne!! Mine room was so cluttered and just a mess. I am going to be so good about putting things away and finish some projects that have been waiting to be finished!!
Ooh! My sewing room looks like your before pictures. Gotta clean up after the two Christmas quilts. Jealous you can renovate. Renting so can't even put up Command Strips. Lol
It is so hard when you rent and are not to be able to put up peg board or shelves!! I do know how lucky I am. I will be biting at the bit to move in!
It's going to be a beautiful room when it's finished!
Thank you so much - I love the color already and the flooring is a dream!!
Love your window! and your new flooring. Looks like carpet before? Will be so much easier to keep clean - no lost pins! We had friends stop by last weekend on their way to Florida. They left Pennsylvania a couple of days before the 24 inches of snow!! Have fun with your arranging. Wish I had a room instead of a corner!! But I do enjoy the space I have.
I do know how lucky I am to have a room and one with a view! For many years, I only had a corner!! It was carpet before - this flooring will be wonderful!! Thanks!!
Oh it is going to be lovely i am HAPPY for YOU!!! hugs
Love, love, love your wall color. Aren't you clever for marrying a handyman! Mine is very sweet and a great cook, but doesn't know tools!
Now, sweet and a great cook sounds very wonderful!!! I am very lucky that my father-in-law took the time to teach my DH!! And, he too is sweet!! Thanks!
Your really in for a treat of a room. It takes time to get it together. I remember all to well tearing down a wall to double the size of my room.
It still gets in a mess but much easier to clean and store(hide) away things. Have fun, don't stress and take your time.
Thank you, Theresa. I think you are right - maybe being away from it for a while will be just the thing I need to think about how I want it! Hugs!
What a lovely room you have. I don't think you should be embarrassed to show off the before picture. I think most of us have rooms similar to yours. Now have a wonderful and safe vacation.
Thanks Karen! I hope to have some shelves installed and some pegboard, that plus the empty closet should help a lot! We are headed down to the Sunshine State!!
Hi Laura, I love all the lamps you have on the table. I'm also a fan of the blue walls. Great idea with the floating floorboards as well and now that you have a lovely cupboard make sure everything is enclosed in plastic or something to keep dust off. By the way, is that snow on the ground outside your gorgeous window? Love C
Thanks, Chris, yes that is tons of snow!! We will be headed to a much warmer climate next week. Just frustrating leaving this. But, I need to think about storage!!! Hope you are feeling better!!!!!!!
I love that window! If you think the before is a mess you should see mine. At least you can see the floor!
Oh, Sue, that window brings in such wonderful light!! It is a small room - but, I am so luck to have it - I plan to make good use of that closet - which had been filled to the top with number 3 sons "stuff"!
