Chris, Amazing Embroidery has a Holly design not sure if it's the sort you want or not but it's number is 251209... Marian
Go to Urban Threads and type in holly in "search". 3 pages of some interesting ones come up. I also have some Anita Goodesign collections called Christmas Curls2 and Christmas Fashion which have holly. Do you plan on using a table runner, place mats and napkins or a table cloth and napkins? You could always use real holly and ivy on the table centerpiece. Might save you lots of time. Tie a sprig of real holly on the napkin ring ,also. I love that you include us in your special occasion. Kay
Thanks Kay, just had a look and there are some lovely things on there. I've bought the table runner design as suggested by Becky. I will be making napkin ring holders in FSL. Having real Holly would be a great idea. I'll have to look into that. You're welcome re me including you all in my luncheon. It's a great time. Love Chris
Chris, when I was in a car wreck and couldn't sit, I finally got to the point that my chiropractor told me to get a stability ball (mine is 36") to sit on. It shifts around and not only moves away from your pressure points, but also strengthens your back muscles that help to hold it in line and keeps from impinging your nerves.
Now there's another great idea. I've seen them down at the Physiotherapist's at Warners Bay. I'll wait till I feel better able to drive and see if I can get one. Actually I think Dana has one - I'll check. Thanks for the idea. Love Chris
You have some great ideas below. Hope they are helpful. I was wondering what theme you would be having this year. Have Trev put your machine up on a higher cupboard so you can then cope with embroidery while standing. Hugs Shirley
Hey, that's a great idea Shirley. I know Amy and Steve has one of those Architect tables and adjusts it to his height as he is over 6ft 2", so that he doesn't have to bend over. I'll have a chat to them about it. Yes, you are right some great ideas below. Love Chris
The most beautiful holly I've ever stitched out is from an Anita Goodesign really old set that is "retired". You get it with about 700 other retired designs on a CD when you join one of their subscription clubs. (No ivy in it, as that is not a big part of the American Christmas tradition.)
Thanks Betsey, I'm a big fan of Anita Goodesign, but I don't want to get a CD. Thanks for helping out, love Chris
San Francisco Stitch Company
Wow Becky, this Holly design is gorgeous. I love it. I'll check this one out. Love Chris
Have just ordered this and one of the Christmas charm packs. Thanks, love Chris
That picture does not do the designs justice. It is the most beautiful item I have stitched in my humble opinion. You will not be at all disappointed.
You are right Becky - it is just gorgeous, the additon of the gold borders brings it to life. I can't wait to get a stitching! Thanks for the link. As I said I bought it and the little Christmas charm pack. Just downloaded them all. I'll have a pile of stitching to do once I can sit! Once again many thanks it's just delightful. Love Chris
Hi, Chris,
I have purchased some lovely Holly and Ivy Christmas fabric from Spotlight, I have started making placemats using the hex template, alternating them with red fabric, it will be different from the usual square or rectangle placemats, I am also going to make the cutlery holders in the shape of a Christmas stocking that is one of Sues designs, using the red material as the main part and the holly ivy material for the cuffs, also if I have enough material I will make some coasters . When I get them made as I have only just started them I will post pictures.
Hope this helps, will keep my thinking cap on .
Love Trish
Thanks Trish they are cute. I'm off to bed, I'm a bit tired and not feeling the best. Love C
And I love this one from Sonia showalter designs would be lovely on napkins. holly and ivy design.
Nice ITH holly leaf banner here, guess you could write anything on them.
holly leaf here for your thoughts.
I like these, maybe chris could get some personalized labels made with compliments for the season on and your name and yr, you can purchase blank bottles of wine from the Bottle shops, and put your labels on them, and then have these holly leaves on them , as gifts for your ladies ?
I had some labels made by Vistaprint , they are based in Queensland, and an excellent job.
Love Trish
