Nice to see you back again!! how are the kitties?
Kitties are fine......I have been able to secure an adoption event every sunday at PetCo here in Memphis.....also, have privately adopted out 10 in the last two months, which were not part of the rescue group I volunteer with.
I have both 5D and 6D installed - same dongle - and I cannot use the reader/writer box. Helpline informed me that it is a matter of the operating system; you need XP or Vista and I am using Windows 8.1. I still have a very old laptop, but I very much doubt if that will accept 5D. Anyway it means my HV Iris can only embroider with the card it came with and the writable card I have, but don't know what's on it.
If you still have the broken dongle you can buy a new one at your dealer's. If not you would have to buy new software.
The dongle does not contain information about your sewing machine, but about the software package and the first owner - so don't buy a dongle from an obscure source unless it comes with the original software and the installation code!
Yes that is exactly what I have learned from a friend. I will need the software also. My emb. machine is Designer II purchased in 2003 and only uses R/W card for delivery of designs to the machine.....Wish I could afford another machine which delivers designs directly from computer to emb. machine, but that is simply out of the question. Thank you for your reply....
Hi Bobbie, I'm afraid you won't be able to 'buy' a Husqvarna dongle as they are coded to your machine. I broke mine at the beginning of last year and had to buy a new one. They are not too expensive - I think I paid about $250.00 Australian. I had to take my machine in and the 5D programme was installed. I believe it's now up to a 6D. Be very careful as you just can't buy one of off someone else! Please ring your Husqvarna dealer and let them know what has happened. Good luck, love Chris
Thank you for the info.....Does the 5D or 6D write designs to a R/W box? My Viking machine will only accept a R/W card and does not have a slot for floppy or a Port to take designs to the emb. machine...I have a Designer II and cannot afford another emb machine.
