Any Australians out there looking for good embroidery thread good price and reasonable postage? I just ordered from Theda Threads and was very pleased to see that even though the Aust dollar has dropped their prices are still good. Got some 4,000 metres ones from $4.40 to $7.95 each. The best part was the postage $15 no matter how big or heavy. Much better deal than the one I was looking at on line where the freight was $69.44 for 2 reels. They even do International orders. I have used this thread before and the quality is very good and the colours haven't faded after multiple washes.

Cost of parcels gets more expensive once it it sent interstate.I'm sure that overseas places quote outlandish prices for post to Australia so that we won't buy from them ,saving them extra work.Once I was told that they wanted nearly $30 to post a item the size of a match box weighing 50grams from the USA

the freight is usually the killer isn't it. Tried buying a KwikSew pattern from Spotlight, but they said it was too new [still in America but not here yet]. I downloaded the print version and spent all day glueing it together. It works, but such a lot of effort!!
Thanks for the above information babash. I'm from Sth Aust.

I started with J Dashew Co. Said I couldn't order from them now because no tax ID. Moved on to Marathon rayon threads, then to their polyester. No problems with them. Have ordered also from ThreadArt and Annabove polyesters. No problems, good prices. Well, only problem was with one mini spool of white from ThreadArt. I have to loosen the tension when I use that spool. These were online orders and I think one phone order to Marathon due to phone online problem. Great pricing and shipping in America.

I use Marathon as well not one problem with any of their reels, we have a factory store in Lakemba N.S.W. but I'm sure there would be others besides the Melbourne one.
