I was asking for help last week with applique, & now I have all the applique pieces stitched on. I would like to embroider something on each corner piece, picture 1 is the bottom & picture 2 is the left hand side before the sashing I am not sure what to embroider on 3 of the corners. On the one corner I am planning on telling the why & the who for this quilt & since the trains made this a bit more juvenile then I wanted I wanted to off set with the embroidered designs. I am making this for our grand-daughter who is 16. She saved her precious little babysitting money to buy me kerchiefs every few months & is still buying them for me 4 years later so the nine patch blocks in this quilt top are those same kerchiefs. can any one best advise me on what to embroider fr the corners to make it more suitable for a teenage girl? The corners don't have to be white I am holding a square for show but they could be green for grass? or whatever colour fabric? I was going to stitch a barn with animals but my daughter wasn't a fan of that idea but could not offer an alternative. Any help is most appreciated

You have done a wonderful job on this quilt! It is great that you were able to use something that she has given you. Love it, hugs Suzanna

Suzanna thank you very much. I like the fact that I could repurpose them & give them back to her in this quilt. I hope that she likes it & understands what I have done. I finished the top today. ~hugs~

How wonderful to be able to use the hankies! Maybe something like "chuggging alone to reach your dreams"

Thanks Penny still working on it but I have a verse written out that I plan to use. It is all about the journey ~hugs~

Does she like to shop or is interested in shoes. Maybe that train indicates a great fantasy shopping trip--favorite stores or perhaps traveling to special places.

Maybe I should skip the embroidery corners & add a large patchwork block? Is this a better idea?

How about the country and/or state she lives in. Can either be an outline or filled.

Name and date of person making the quilt and grand-daughters name and birthday in another. Perhaps adding parents names in the last corner.

I did think of adding hearts with names in each corner........I think I was looking for something that went along with a journey to go with the trains? Thank you for commenting

Two homes, yours and hers, with names and other info at each?

Maybe something about 'loving and sharing her journey with you'???
