This is very nice the way you have done, not all in life goes around, sometimes it is better to change the direction.
Impressive work..
Hugs Bärbel
Your quilt is beautiful just the way it is. Don't worry about it.
Looks like it was done by a PROFESSIONAL and I think you are that! Hugs, Suzanna
It is perfect!. The imperfection(and who but you is going to notice it)makes it perfect for who is there among us that has no imperfection? Congratulations on such a beautiful job commemorating the journey you have made. Much love to you/ Lillian
Ah Lillian with all that you have on your plate right now I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to say so. ~hugs & Prayers for the two of you~
Oh no, don't change a thing it is absolutely wonderful just as it is. I think you have done a fantastic job. I'll just bet the person who receives this special one off quilt will love it.
Hi Cuties,
I'm 70 and still quilting. I've got a huge stash, bunches of patterns I want to do and embroider. For those who put labels on the back, do them directly on the backing (embroider) or sew your label on then have it quilted. That way no one can take your label off. I finished 6 quilt tops and 4 more started while on vacation. Best vacations ever, Keep quilting, Ladies.
God bless,
Jane
wow Jane that is wonderful! I look forward to seeing each one of them here please. I will see the label on the back side when it is done I will share it too
Just saw this post. So glad you decided to leave things be. I would have joined the chorus of "let it be". Now all that is left to say is Fantastic! It will be enjoyed and the recipient will be none the wiser. Such fun colors for the applique.
You have done a wonderful job. Like everyone else I wouldn't change it. It is perfect just how it is
I would not change a thing...it looks great and both side envines are headed in the same direction...to the top! Love it just the way it is...
It's Beautiful just the way it is. You did a lovely job. Well done!!
Loralye, its a splendid quilt, you have done such a great job with this. The children will be overwhelmed with the trains, they look great. You have excelled with this one, don't be hard on yourself your work is beautiful, i think it is perfect. Sandra
I would not up pick it , the child will never know its fabulous
thank you so very much, she is 16 so your probably quite right about that lol ~hugs~
You have outdone yourself a brilliant quilt, love the way you did your corners add the zing factor. Don't change a thing on the quilt it works well as it is, no one will know but you of it's little quirk . Marian
Marian, thanks I spent a considerably time trying to come up with the design for the corners lol because I put the sides on wrong the corners match & it was my intention for them to be opposite............... oh well. ~hugs~
O WOW, It is a stunner for sure, full of colour and love sewn into it. a fantastic family Heir loom.
Hugs Pam
This is absolutely beautiful! I have no doubt that she will love it and all the work you put in to it!
It is a very beautiful quilt. I also think that you should leaves it just the way it is. I would have not know if you had not pointed it out.
Your quilt is beautiful, just leave it the way it is.
I wouldn't change a thing. Did you know it is a tradition in quilt making to intentionally put in a mistake so people will know it is handmade? You did it! It is a wonderful result. (Enjoy!) :)
I think the quilt looks beautiful. You see what is wrong but I would bet most people wouldn't. I love it and I think you should leave it. I agree with Kay. Arlene
Don't rip it out. You know it is not perfect , but no one else will. I love it! Kay
Wow what a stunning quilt, you surely have done lots of hours on this one, the border is so gorgeous. love the corner blocks muchly.
Fantastic
if it can be you see a mistake which one must search long. I find everything great, happy quilt - great, hugs Maria
Just beautiful. Like all others I would leave it as it is. Our journeys through life are not perfect. Love & Hugs Shirley
It is gorgeous!!! Don't change a thing. The Amish say that only God is perfect so they always put a mistake in their quilts. I do too. To find their mistakes (and mine) you really have to look. If you hadn't said anything I wouldn't have known that it was wrong. Really you just "planned' it that way. Top and left side the cars outside the "road" and the left and bottom they are inside. Now how are you going to quilt it?
God bless,
Jane
thank you Jane so very much, I didn't realize this, thanks for pointing it out, does make it symmetrical after all lol ~hugs~
I have not decided if I will quilt it or send it out to be done for me. I have a few more to get finished so will decide when I get all my tops for this year finished.
Just what I was going to add, Jane. It is a great quilt, so don't change it.
It was made from the heart - no need to change anything. Time will tell or if it is correct as stands. And did you notice that the sides are all going up. Up is the right direction.
If you hadn't pointed it out I never would have thought anything was wrong !! It looks perfect !! God bless !
I would change it at all. The quilt looks lovely. Thank you for sharing.
Happy Stitching!!
It looks terrific!! All roads lead to somewhere.........I wouldn't change a thing!
I wouldn't change a thing, tell hubby how much more work is involved. You could use the time and energy on a new project, it is perfect as is.
It's lovely as is. Don't forget you won't be looking at all 4 sides together when it's on a bed. It won't even be noticeable.
It is beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing you are the designer and it's all about the journey. It's an original. You don't have to do everything by the book.
thank you very much & your right it is my own design so I guess I could pretend I did it this way on purpose lol ~hugs~
If you hadn't said something, I would not have noticed. Leave it. Beautiful. Wish I could do that and it would come out a third that well.
I wouldn't change a thing. This quilt is beautiful and I love that you made it from kerchiefs. Tell you hubs to watch it closely and if the engines start getting closer together to let you know, lol. hugs.
Well, Loralye, I love it as it is. I for one, always put something in my quilts that is not right. I believe in the Amish way of making a quilt. Nothing is perfect except God! I would leave it as it is. Having a mistake in a quilt is fun for people to find it. I also like the rik-rak stitching on the lower edge. It's just gorgeous. Love Chris
Thanks so much for having a closer look Chris, if I would have done it the other way all of the tracks (black rick rack) would meet up @ the corners. I will leave it for a day or two & see if I feel like making any changes. ~hugs~
Why don't you leave it as it is, they won't bump into each other, just pass on different tracks! Like ships that pass in the night. It is lovely as it is.
well there are many road blocks in life so I could lol. Hubs is an engineer & he says I must fix it lol Thanks Martine ~hugs~
It is beautiful just like it is. I love your theme, that it is all about the journey. The Most important thing about destination is that we know where will spend our final destination when we leave this life. God Bless You! Thank you for sharing this beautiful quilt top.
