Easter mugrug

Sometime ago I digitised two designs for someone and as a thank you present I got amongst other things two mugrugs with the design on it. I was so happy with those gifts.
I liked the general design of her mugrugs and digitised a number of ITH Easter mugrugs using the same idea. I just tested #3 of the series, haven't even closed the gap for turning.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. Here's another one I did.
Now I just have to go out and buy suitable Easter fabric, most things in my stash are blue or far too bright.

A set would be cute with some like this and some mirrored. Pick several coordinating fabrics and use a different sequence on each mugrug. The options are endless.

I prefer the top one, as I think the egg would be more visible. Even two smaller eggs would be good, as it looks like the egg was just plopped there - only my opinion. Great job

I love both of them, but I prefer the top one. I always like designs in the lower right hand corner for some reason! Love Chris

I like the second version but like some of the others, I would prefer it flipped to have the egg on the right hand side. Thanks for showing! How lovely to receive such a nice thank you.

I prefer the second one with the strips on the bottom. You've gotten the full range of options!!

I like the first one with no egg then you could use it always BUT i could just leave off the egg right??hugs

I started by making a blank. Easier than having to invent the wheel with every design.

I love the one you have stitched......I think I would just mix it up and do a combo of both, they will compliment each other in a set.......great digitizing, Martine......

Yes, that would work nicely. Of course I saved them as EM1a and EM1b etc.

I prefer the second one, but like someone else here, I would mirror so egg will be on the right. I agree with you that the strips at the top made it look top heavy....maybe if lighter colored strips were used it would be okay....

I just raided my strips and bits, but lighter tones would be nice.

If you are planning to market the design, why not pick coordinating spring pastel fabrics and do samples of each designs. A beautiful sample will sell more than the drawing. imo
It is a very cute design.

I am not selling from the drawing, I was just curious which one people would like best. I am glad for the input and decided to stitch them all, with the strips in the lower half and the designs in the top right.

Thanks for clearing up my confusion. Why not do both, you can see from the early comments that there are fans of each.

Hello Martine,
Another idea, I would mirror the second one, so the egg would be on the right side.

Thanks, that's the variation I'm going to use.

anabela by anabela 29 Feb 2016

I had not thought of that, but in my opinion this is the best solution. Good thinking 06jannie.
Love it

Hallo Martine,
both are OK, but I´m right handed and for that reason I would use the first one because I would put the cup on the egg-shape, on the right side.

I think I would like the pic of the software one better... I'm like you, it looks a bit heavy in the one your did already.... but still really nice.

Yes it looked nice in the picture, but once the strips were added I doubted the placement. Thank you.
