It is so close. I understand and have a few things I have not posted. I love the wood stove idea. Gotta have heat! Stay warm and stitchin! big hugs!
Carolyn this would have been so pretty. Sorry it didn't work right for you. Try again.
Carolyn - you are such a dear to show us your mistakes. Your projects and stitchouts are always so beautiful, it does the heart good to know that even you will sometimes not be as satisfied as you would like. I really hate it when all my hard work turns out to be just a mess!!
Yes it is disheartening for sure unto the next project though ***can`t keep a good women down my Dad always said that to me lol
Yea, I hate it when things don't turn out the way I wanted it to. Can you explain just what went wrong? Wrong stabilizer? Placement? Fabric? All of the above?
We have to learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make them all yourself.
I love the cross stitched leaves. I'd probably sit with a seam ripper and work on backside to remove that portion and just doing a little portion at a time [I'd get tired of doing this]. Then I'd use again but try putting something like the product 'Heat n Bond to backside of cross stitch and try stitching like applique again. I understand failed projects. In 'Sewing' category I will post my failed project. I think we are all in a Sisterhood of Failed Projects at some time or the other. Snowing here right now but nothing and no where like what you've got way up there.
Carolyn... so sorry it didn't turn out like you wanted. I know what it means when you work on something for hours and something happens to it that it wasn't right. A few years ago I was making a blanket for our oldest daughter, she loves frogs, I had been placing different frog designs in the corners and before I finished the last corner I placed her name in the middle of it, then I went to the last corner to put the frog I knew she would love the most...... got finished and went to take it out of the hoop.......... oh no..... I forgot to check to make sure there wasn't any material up under the hoop and I caught material up under it.... I was so upset..... so I know just what you mean.. I'd salvage what I could of it also and make napkins out of it. I know you will get thru it. Mechille :)
goodness.... I would have winter also. I won't complain that it's 45*F here then. But we're suppose to have warm temps next week... in the 70's. I wish some your way. :)
Oh!!!!!!So pleased it does NOT only to me..So sorry for that to have happened !!!!!Such Awesome Fabric and Lots of work done on it!!!!2nd Time lucky!!!!
Done that!! So much time to have a disappointing result, but you gave it your all......I love the fabric!!
Carolyn, a lot of work hours. But however we all have something that we completely make a mess of i am sure, you are brave to show us. You will get it right next time, practice makes perfect so they say, you will be able to salvage some the red material and make another useful item. Sandra.
Yes, it happened to me a few days ago, so I understood what NOT to do again... I threw it in the bin and started again and this time the project is fine :)
Hugs, Lidia
Happens to everybody, I admire you for showing.
I would close my eyes and start all over again!
Hugs, Roberta
Wish I could show you a picture of the sweatshirt I ruined at Christmas - cutest fancy nutcracker design, about 60,000 stitches. Looked gorgeous, removed hoop, looked crooked. I named her "Eileen." Sits near my machine as a reminder. I think eventually I will cut it out and applique on another fleece item, but for now, just sitting there accusing me.
Well this made me MAD :(:(I hate wasting time like this lol but we all do it BUT most don't play show and tell right???
Don't you just hate it when things like this happens? I did a whole eye glass case last week and it turned out all wrong, so I threw it in the bin! I hope someone at the thrift shop will appreciate all the work that went into this cloth. I agree with Shirley why not salvage as much of the red material as you can and make some napkins, or place mats with it. Love Chris
Sorry to hear you have spent hours working in this only to be disappointed. Why not salvage the fabric to the left and make something else. Best of luck. Hugs Shirley
ah well live & learn, you could always applique something to cover this, just a thought. ~hugs~
Isn't it disappointing when we picture something in our mind and it turns out to be less than what we imagined?
Hate when that happens, sometimes walking away from it helps to find a solution, good luck
hugs
