I just planted some sunflower seeds in a cup and can't wait for spring, our last frost should be the day after Easter, I also have tomatos and peppers growing indoors and some other green things that I did not label and forgot what they were, Is anyone else getting their gardens ready or planning one. I can't wait to get outside and play in the dirt. What are you growing this year? Next I will be getting some strawberry plants, we are in zone 8 so it's warming up nicely but I know from experience that there is another frost lurking out there just as soon as I put a plant outside.

I'm in zone 6--last frost day May 10. Only going to try tomatoes, just a few. The wild life here lifts everything during the night. 'Dirt' here is terrible clay. I can barely dig anymore and husband hates digging so I guess it will be roadside or grocery store goods unless a good friend shares off their garden. Hint HInt. I did plant tulips and hyacinths pulled from sister in laws bed. I ended up falling, tripping over a border. Happened in an instance but seemed like slow motion. Nothing broke, only sore and achy.

my sunflowers grew too tall in the cup and fell over, I'll start them outside when it's a bit warmer. I'm glad you weren't badly hurt in your fall, Take care

I live in "banana belt" and last frost of spring about April 10 unlike previous address where June 10th iffy weather. First frost in fall in early November. Rhubarb and more blueberries. Wild blackberries (yum yum) all over the place. Tomatoes, big and cherry size. Herbs doing well.

I put up some cherry tomatoes in hanging baskets placed them in patio area. Can't bend over too long so this works great they'll hang down . I planted my herbs, Coriander, parsley, rosemary, camomile, yarrow and basil.I have small lettuce coming up already. Started some in flower boxes.Gotta ward off the evil spirits, Ha Ha!!Makes great tea.My lavender is just beautiful and my Geraniums are already in full bloom. Plant something white your garden will GLOW in the dark..

I am just starting thinking about it. I have been technologically challenged the last few weeks and need to dig in the dirt for a while.

I wish our weather was predictable enough to know when the last frost will be! I have my seeds ready to plant salad crops, but not just yet.
By the way, how can you call something as magical as soil "dirt"? It seems very disrespectful to me!

You haven't seen our soil, hard as a rock and bone dry. I'm going to buy my soil in a bag and use grow bags this year. We have been in a drought for so long I forget what real soil looks like.

I am starting in the yard as well. I hope no frost which really does not happen to often around here. My apricot tree is absolutely covered with starting fruit. Went to Costco today, tomato plants, basil and all kinds of fruit trees for sale. I will still wait for a little bit before planting outside.

Did my sunflowers and pumpkins today. By the end of this month my summerhouse will be full with seedlings. (Ok it is kept frost free by a heater) The plant's won't go out to late April at the earliest! and some of them like tomatoes I will grow indoors. I am hoping for some warm weather soon!

We used to, Bev, but all the critters we attract with our outdoor feeding station for the stray cats brings all kinds of critters that eat the veggies before we can......

We have begun, but are way behind. My husband finished building the raised garden for me, but we still have to fill it with dirt.
