Hi,
Thanks for adding the second picture. Now I can visualize the bag better now. Rachel might like to do this for one of her 4H projects. Do you think a slightly lighter-weight fabric would work with this technique? It might be easier for a less experienced sewer to handle. Thanks again,
Ruth J
absolutely, although a canvas or duck would be easy to work with because it has it stability.
How clever, Christine.......pretty design and fabric......
I love this New Idea! Did you use any special water base paints and sealer? or what? Could you please send another picture, maybe from farther away, so as to see the complete bag? I am going to pass this idea on to my granddaughter.
Thank you,
Ruth J
I used regular acrylic paints and then sealed it with a dark stain. Not polyurethane, just regular stain. It was very heavy wet.
What a great project. Never thought of painting the canvas material or even sealing one if I did do that. Great job.
That does look quite large! I like the little design you put on it. Do you have any tips for stitching on canvas? I'm scared to try!
This canvas is really stiff so I had no problem as long as you can manage it around the machine. I did have trouble with one color, and had to go slow, other than that, no topping necessary - float it on top of tear away and it is done!
