Good morning cuties,

How often to you hear ''you work to hard for what you get paid'' especially from your hubby or family. We as crafter (all types) know we never get paid our full value and that often our time is paid way under minimum wage (way under). It is hard to explain to others that we do this for the pleasure and the accomplishment of seeing something materialize from an idea to finished product.
Yesterday I got a call from someone who will be a new customer, saying she had received a baby basket as a gift 3 years ago. She wants to purchase one for a friend who will be having a baby girl. I took the info, set up a meeting and while giving her my new address info, wondered how whe had found me after my move.
She laughed saying it was like being a detective and went on to explain that she had contacted someone who used to work with my physio, called the physio who mentioned that I used to do a craft show (the Farmer's Market) and that maybe they could help. They went to the Market and although the employees knew who they were talking about, they did not have my contact info. They followed that up with meeting the owner who in turn gave them the info about the show organizers and placed another call. That is how she found me. I was so touched and when I hung up the phone I had a huge smile on my face. Hubby had listened to my conversation and had to ask me ''what are you smiling about and who was that''.
I simply looked at him and said ''this is why I do what I do'' and explained my conversation to him. He in turn had no choice to smile as well.
We never know when we sell our créations, how it will touch someone. This gesture made my day, (my week) so when you think to yourself ''I work to hard for what I get'', blessing to the heart are worth more than money in the bank.
Thanks for listening to my story, you are also blessing to my heart
hugs
Michelle

I am so glad that you can do what you enjoy and not worry about your income. You are fortunate to have a provider. I am glad that your husband is supportive. Many of us have had to wait until retirement to do what you do. I say that you are blessed to have it all!!! Kay

That's great! My hubby once said "You do know you could make more money flipping burgers at McDonalds, don't you?" I said "Yep, but I wouldn't be having as much fun & enjoying the fact that people like what I do!"

What a wonderful phone call. You are a true blessing in your work and as a person in order for them to go to this much trouble to find you. Your pictures in projects are always beautiful to look at and I am sure cherished to own. Thank you for sharing. You made my day also. Hugs, Barba

What a lovely phone call that must have been. A real feel good one. I just love all your work and can understand why someone wants to buy from you.
When you think about it this lady isn't just wanting you to do a basket because you do pretty things. She know you do quality items that stand the test of being used and laundered as she has been lucky enough to have a set.
You just can't buy that in the shops these days.

what an awesome story & how lovely is it that she went to that much effort to get to you. When we create something so many others benefit from it & it touches their lives in such a profound way. Many will keep things hand made and then pass these down to the person's first born so it lives on in their hearts for ..................well deserved~ hugs~

You should consider adding a label or a card in your gift baskets making it easier for customers to locate you. Your work is beautiful of course they keep coming back

I am glad it made your day. I had something similar happen a few years ago. This person knew that my husband had a shop and called around everyone of them asking "does your wife" sell and make Baby Blankets.
Husband was blown away since we lived in a major city and this was not an easy task.

While we know in our hearts that we love our craft and feel our work is good, validation like this is the ultimate praise. You deserve it my friend.
