This is a known issue on computers that have the Viking Explorer Plug in and Windows 10. It has been the subject of conversation for some time on the "PremierPlusEmbroiderySoftware" Yahoo Group.
First, regardless of which version of Windows you have, if you are using the Explorer Plug in, make sure that you do not have another icon viewer installed. Having another viewer installed at the same time causes problems.
Besides that there are some things that you can try to do to make the black/tiny icon issue better. First make sure that you have updated to the latest Explorer Plug in (version 11.1). To do this, you must first uninstall the lower version through the control panel, reboot and then download and install the latest version (11.1) using "Smart Update" in Configure.
For those who still have issues after updating, it is recommended that you follow the instructions that are found on the Premier+ FAQ page here: http://www.premierplusembroidery.... Click on the software program you have, and in the window that comes up type “EP002”. The resulting answer is related to the black/tiny icons. The instructions that are given for what to do are very clear and are illustrated, making them rather easy to follow.
Ultimately, this is a problem with the Windows 10 operating system, and it is hoped that Microsoft will come up with a fix for the few people whose black/tiny icon issue is not completely resolved after trying the fixes.
You should consider joining this embroidery Yahoo group as they are very helpful and responsive to all sorts of questions related to all the different versions of the Viking software.
Hope this helps you. Judy
