That is so wonderful! How big is it? it is hard to tell, however I would say 14 inches tall? What pattern did you use for your base fabric it does not seem to have much bulk at the top?
if you scroll down, I gave some links which lead to patterns free download. actually it is very popular in Germany to sew "Schultüten" for the beginners which can be used as cushions afterwards. We chose a heavy fabric (Segeltuch=canvas/sail cloth) but it was so difficult to iron :-( It is also recommendable to insert a cardboard using the same pattern - so it would get a better look for presentation. Usually it is stuffed with sweets and things children need at school and fruit, but for the teacher it was Limoncello from Italy and pasta and things 'cause she loves Italy). It is about 50cm long ( approx. 20 inches) plus the top altogether approx 23 - 24 inches. I did in diagonal run of thread to make the thing "smoother". I thought my daughter could have attached a bigger more spectacular bow. It's so fun to make things like that, Christine. I only should take more pictures :-)
Hallo Hallo,
Frohe Ostern! Liebe Grüsse Maria
A teacher for 40 years, unbelievable. What dedication she had. WOW!
Very sentimental gift. Great job.
Some links how to make a Schultüte by sewing: later on - after removal of the sweet contents - you can stuff them and use as cushion
