That Market is over for another Year. I am tired and stiff. Only sold my purple African Violet and the Prayer Plant. If I charged for people feeling these plants I would have made a fortune. Will put them aside so I won't have to make them again for next year. Sold 14 Kitchen Towels on my first day and only 4 over the other 3 days. Friday was unbelievable. Just so busy and then it dropped off over the next 3 days as it was cold, cloudy and a cold wind. Last year I was asked for cats. They went in the first day. This year it was Pineapples and Dogs. With dogs though you would have to know which breed they are looking for. Children are fascinated with the Etui. They just have to play with them by folding them together then letting them fall again after taking the lid off.

Lucking we don't get snow where I live. If it does snow it usually melts before it hits the ground. We really need some rain though. Haven't watered my garden for ages.

Lillian, I am pleased with the weekend. The sad part though is that there doesn't seem to be any Cuties around the south of Adelaide or they didn't come and say Hello

You can never be sure what will sell at markets, someone wanted to buy my small esky which had my food in it on Sunday. Is the market indoors or out in the open?Years ago I use to go to a 4 day Easter market held indoors & if the weather was awful on Good Friday ,a roaring trade was done because nothing else was open & it was too wet for the beach.Dogs are hard to predict but pugs, labs & Shih Itzus are popular. What is left over means less work for the next market & maybe time to make some different items that you have been thinking about doing.

I have made many different items but still sell more of the old favorites. I am almost thinking that I should stitch only these but then some will always want was you don't have.
One of the Monthly someone wanted to buy the bag I was packing my towels into after the Market. It was just a shopping bag (We don't have plastic bags in South Australia. It is a green bag that I prettied up with a piece of Fabric over the name of the supermarket.

Chris you could have asked for better weather for us. Overcast and cold then cold wind on the Monday. Should be selling food. Hope you are feeling a lot better.

Thank you for always letting us know what sold and what did not. I hope it was not too cold for you. One never knows how mother nature influences market. Now you can rest for a while.

I have noticed that the weekend after Easter is always beautiful. Think I just heard that next Monday will be 30C. It was 17- 19C over the weekend. At least there wasn't the heavy rain like last year.

Hope you made a profit. No one except us fellow embroideries know what is evolved. I have narrowed my items to sell to mostly kitchen or tea towels as they are inexpensive and price out reasonable. I wish I had more time to add towel toppers and pot holders to sell as sets. The economy is so bad that people will not buy a pricey heirloom item. Religious sayings and verses sell well and so do my favorite "wine " designs.

Have you ever taken photos of your towels and added them here? I had a wine design as well and that sold quickly. My Kitchen Towels would be my best seller and then my sock toys.

Yes, stick with your easy sellers. Kay

I bet you are tired! We did well selling CWA devonshire tea on Easter Saturday morning. Just wondering if owls are still selling? perhaps you didn't have any this year. I used mine for a sign [not good enough to sell, but a quick glimpse and you don't notice the faults]

Wish I could have had some of your Devonshire tea. Yes Towels are still a good seller. I did so many of a few designs so I didn't have all of only one design. I always sell Hens and Roosters so this year I did them in 3 different colours but this year was not the right time for them. They seem more popular at the Monthly Market. Yes Tired and stiff.

Don't you just love the parents who let their children handle all your items and then walk off without buying anything?

No, the parent who gives a 4 year old $3 to spend and cuts her loose. She buys something wonderful and is thrilled. That lasts five minutes. Then here comes the mom. How dare you take advantage of a child like this? Give us back the money. Who treated the child wrong?

mi30kaja by mi30kaja 29 Mar 2016

Sorry but it is just not the children but the Mums and Ladies my age who had to feel. My hate is the little darling who is has a sausage or cake and sticky fingers. A boy about 10 came into the site and started playing with the Etui. I just had to tell him not to play with it. I felt nasty but can you imagine what they would look like if everyone played with them.

I'm sorry you had to stick it out 3 more days, after a great first day, but you never know. I do know one thing though. Your work was beautiful. I loved the plants and the sock toys. I'm not familiar with your Etui, though, so I'm fascinated, too. I thought it was some sort of case, because you mentioned a lid. However, I'm sure a case wouldn't fall apart.....

Etui is a sewing/jewellery box that has little sections. When you take the lid off it opens and flattens out to show the sections. When I unpack I will take a photo but you can also google them. Always forget to take photos. Also sold many sock Toys and with the sock toys I always give each a name.
