I tried out the C in variegated thread. This is the result. As I suspected the bargello effect gets lost. It might be better if the colour changes over a longer distance than in the thread I used - mine looked not too bad, but as you can see the effect is totally random. I am afraid it has to be done with a lot of colour changes. You might try using fewer colours, say 4 or 5 instead of 6 (I don't think I have a range of 6 even in my most beloved blue) but for me variegated is a no-no.
And don't look at the bottom of the picture - I use an old napkin for various tests.
It is still nice even though the Bargello effect is lost - and so much quicker than changing the colours.
Had a look at this Alphabet but has anyone else noticed the heights are all different measurements? So if you were doing a name you would need to adjust as you went along if doing a name. Otherwise it would look like you have hooped it crooked.
most are 56 mm, one is 54 mm, one 55, one 57. Those small differences will be hardly noticeable, unless you have the 54 one close to the 57 or embroider on a striped fabric.
It is so different than any I have seen before. Great for us, kids, guys, etc......!
Yes this is gorgeous, it would look lovely in variegated cotton, I can see it in the Autumn shade.
I like it too but with 7 colours in each letter and a single needle machine it would take a long time to embroider a name. Wondering how it would look using variegated thread for the fill.
Yes , I thought so too! I am already trying to think what it would be best suited for. Any ideas? Kay
I do like it as well but possibly would not use any alphabets in my embroidery.
