Lovely quilt. I do hope he accepts it they way you are sending it. It is very hard for the young ones to leave the nest, especially an orphanage.
What a wonderful gift. I hope he is able to make it an heirloom. Kay
Hope he is able to find happiness and health on his life journey. You are wonderful to give him a start in this journey!
what a wonderful kind and loving person you are to make such a beautiful quilt for this young man. I pray that this young man will be able to find his way to the new life after orphanage. Your quilt will provide him the warmth and love in his life. thank you for sharing.
what a beautiful story ,Im sure he will cherish his quilt and feel the love that went into it
What a lovely quilt and definitely suitable for a young man. May it bring him many warm nights and comfort
It's so beautiful and he will feel your arms around him and the selfless love that you have included in making this creation. What a kind and loving thing to do. Sending a prayer to travel with this quilt for the young who receives it.
Thank you for the prayer. That is much appreciated. I truly enjoy the process. Nothing selfless about it.
You made a lovely quilt. Quilting a full sized one on a sewing machine must have been a challenge, especially when doing the center.
I think the recipient will be very pleased with it. Getting something brand new especially made for him will be such a joy!
Thanks. Yes it was a bit cramped, I kept it simple in the center by just doing stitch in the ditch.Having the quilt send out for quilting gets a bit to pricey.
How tramatic it must be to not know if you'll eat again or ever be safe. Today's world is very harsh.I hope he can find help soon. The quilt is just beautiful.
Beautiful quilt and what a beautiful heart you have, Angie...such a shame that after he turns 18 he is thrust out into the world...I do hope that they have prepared him for this journey...I am sure he will treasure this quilt all of his life...
I love the challenge of a quilt, so I enjoy the process.and the learning with each one. I am glad that at the same time I can hopefully bring joy to someone else.
Wonderful quilt, do love the pattern and great colours. I'm sure any recipient will be very grateful for the love and caring stitched into each block. Marian
the quilt is beautiful and the colors great for a young man. I'm sure he will feel the warmth and the love of the quiltmaker ( you) when he wraps himself in it, and I hope it gives him comfort and support. now he has to leave the orphanage. You and the other church friends do an appreciated job here. A thank you for you and your friends for caring ! Big hug/love for you.
Beautiful quilt Angie. I am sure it will be treasured
I hope they help set up the young guy, with finding job/housing, so he will have a bed to put this on. This is a beautiful quilt and I know a lot of love went into it.
Its a shame, I really never thought about what happens to them at 18. I do hope they have prepared him, for living on his own. Now this really concerns me....something and someone else to pray for. I hope his heart has not hardened, because he was an orphan, not adopted. I really wish all of them well. Maybe they can rent a place together, to share the cost of living.
Toogie this quilt will travel with people from our church on a mission trip to Romania. The reason for the size is, that often the young people get married soon after leaving the orphanage. There are so many people in this world that need prayers. Thank you for wanting to include them. .
What a lovely idea for these young people to receive such a loving gift. I love your pattern as well, looks stunning. Perfect for a boy. Well done
WOW WOW WOW! Angie this is so beautiful and a great design for a young man, the colours are very masculine. He will always treasure the love and work that has been put into this. You are a sweetie for doing this for these young people. Love Chris
Thank you Chris. I actually love creating. I have so much joy doing this. Well not so much the size. Kind of difficult quilting it with my sewing machine. Now the lap size we usually make will seem like a breeze.
WOW!! What a beautiful quilt! He will love it, and it will be very much appreciated, I'm sure.
Oh my goodness...your quilt is BEAUTIFUL ! ! ! Very talented. I'm sure he is going to LOVE it and always remember his church friends and especially the one who made him this quilt.
Hugs
Thank you. I hope he will LOVE it even though he does not know me.
Great quilt and I am sure it will be a very appreciated gift.
Wonderful gift. It must be such a shock to be cut loose at such a tender age - same as in the foster care system. How true what Lillian said. You may or may not remember what you learned in each grade of school, but you remember most of the teachers' names and how they treated you and the other children. So they mostly taught you how to be wonderfully human, by example.
Thank you for your comment. You are right it must be a shock and I hope they prepare these young people.
It's beautiful and so are you. Me thinks he'll never forget this kindness that's being shown him. Kids forget what people look like but they do not forget deeds of kindness, most remember all their lives
