Thinking of all the displaced families from Fort McMurray. I live 5 hours south of Fort McMurray. Today (Sunday) there was some good news, there has been some rain and the temperatures are much cooler. The fire is still growing, winds swirling, flying embers starting new fires. Many displaced families have come to our city and other cities in the province. It’s times like these when Albertans pull together and do whatever it takes to help.
It is heart wrenching to see all this destruction. I have several of my family members working out there and thankfully they are all back home safe and sound but their lives have been turned upside down. Work may not resume for quite a while, Fort McMurray is where the oil sands are and many from other provinces across Canada work there.
I pray that it all stops soon, they say it has doubled in size in just one day.

Prayers for all the families and animals. That they all stay save. And i also hope they get everything soon under control
My husband has been following a camper from Canada and he had said that one family opened their land to campers and has a pasture for their animals. People helping people.
What a terrible tragedy this is. I saw on television that the flames were over 100 feet tall. (3048CM)
Yes, my thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the Fort McMurray fire.
Praying for the fires to be extinguished, the firemen bravely fighting them and all the families in the path....
I am so sorry for the families that have been displaced and lost so much. The only saving grace is that there has been no loss of life, even though the destruction is overwhelming. My prayers are with the people of Fort McMurray and those fighting the fire no matter what capacity..
