Had to take hubby back to the Spec. Clinic again yesterday for check where he had a couple of large nasties taken off his leg. I have to do more dressings for another week. Not a very pleasant job, not being a nurse and not liking the look of wounds lol. I came out with a large bag of dressings and bandages including a medical pack which include tweezers, scissor etc. (Hope Dennis does not read this as he knows how many pairs of scissors I have) He has to go back again next week to have the dressing off where they took the skin from. I sure hope this will be the end of his problems. Hugs Shirley

Dear Shirley, I do hope that your husband's leg heals really quickly. It's not a nice thing having to change weeping wounds but I know you are doing it to help him out. Love Chris

I have been changing dressing on his head and leg where the skin was taken for that and now these 2 nasties on his leg. Then it will be from where the skin was taken from. The good news is all skin cancers were not bad ones. After I do his dressings he has to help me into bed and tuck me in, so we have a real thing going at the moment. lol Hugs Shirley

PS> The reason he has to tuck me into bed at night is because I cannot bend my leg. I bent it by accident early this morning and I saw stars. It is quite painful at the moment. I will go and sit with it up shortly. hugs

You are a very special lady, I know you do it out of love for him.. but one would think the district nurse would call past and change the dressings at least every other day to give you a break. That is what my youngest does and she is near Albury N.S.W I just thought Tas would do this to.. Marian

No that service has not been offered to us here. I would take them up on the offer if it was. Yes we tend to do these things out of love. After 53 years I cannot let him down now. He has been through such a lot these past few months. I bought him a I-pad the other day so now he can spend the cold days browsing the internet. I gave him his first lesson yesterday and he was surprised at how many things of interest he found. It has opened up a whole new world for him. It is the blind showing the blind lol as I have not had my I-pad for long. Hugs

Shirley I hope he will heal fast. Not being a nurse when faced with similar situations one wonders if it is done right. Hopefully you see improvements every time you change the bandages.

My dad wanted me to be a nurse when I was 16. When I get to meet him again up yonder I will tell him I nursed for 6 months. lol Hugs

It is always difficult doing medical treatment if you are not trained but we somehow manage to cope I will be praying and thinking of you and hopefully it will be on the mend soon

Many thanks. I will get there in the end. The nurses at the Hospital are really nice. I was so pleased they gave me the dressings for the week as I had trouble buying the correct ones last week. Hugs

I know it's hard Shirley. But we do it because we love them. I've been dressing my hubby's foot and great toe 2 times a day for weeks now. Last week the Dr told me I could do it just once a day now and he thinks by 6 more weeks it will be healed. I'm really looking forward to the day they say it's finally well. Being a nurse it doesn't bother me to do it, it's just time consuming. Hope your hubby heals quickly/Lillian

Sorry to hear you have had to dress your hubby's foot & toe. Yes we do it because we love them. It is time consuming. The way I have to do it this week is more involved. But it is One Day at a Time. Hugs
