I think it may have been Noah but not sure please correct me if I am wrong. Someone made Microwave Potato bags and showed them.

I have been asked by cousin to make some Microwave Pot Holders that go around the bowl in the Microwave. She bought one and is sending it to me to look at. Now my problem is this. I have looked it up on the net and have found plenty of free directions and patterns but one was very interesting and said it must have 100% Cotton Wadding other wise it could catch fire. Looked up some that state 100% cotton but they have Scrim as well.
Would like to know what the Cutie used as it must have been safe. Saw something called Warm Tater but not being made now.
Any help appreciated.

I agree with the 100% everything & look forward to seeing your potato bag & you can do the same idea to make wrap bag for tortilla's & also corn on the cob too. ~hugs Loralye~

Pellon has something new I believe to replace the Hot Tater but what I've used is their 100% cotton and make sure packaging states it does not have glue or resins. Need 100% cotton fabrics and cotton or rayon threads. Do not use polyester. Also instructions are not to heat over 2-3 minutes. Mainly the hot pot or bowl pad is just for heating and not cooking something. My friend tried wrapping her potato with it and it scorched so no long cooking of anything with them. Would not trust anything over 3 minutes.

I make the microwavable bowls. Everything has to be 100% cotton including the thread. I often stick the material and batting in the microwave for 3 minutes if I am not sure about the fiber content or do the burn test.

I just bought some batting at JoAnn Fabrics, called Wrap-N-Zap by Pellon. 100% cotton batting, says microwave friendly. Even has a pattern for a "baked potato zapper". I just have to gather cotton fabric and thread and start.

I purchase Mountain Mise 100% quilt batting and cut my squares to the size I need for the bowls. Have made and sold 100% and always add the instructions of how to use so they can't come back on me if they leave them in the microwave for too many minutes

Should say Mountain MIST - sorry.
