I took a few projects on holiday with me - 4 weeks is a long time to be idle! This jacket was well on the way to being finished when we left home. It began as a waistcoat, knitted in one piece. (A rectangle, knitted sideways with slits for armholes. The collar forms as you put it on - a bit like on Toogie's circular crochet one.) I had some wool left so I wondered if sleeves would work. I'm rather pleased with the result.

The mannequin was a birthday present.

Oh Sue, this is just beautiful and perfect like everything you are doing and crafting! Will be wonderful to wear - wow, and the mannequin is a very thought- and useful birthday present too!
Wishing you everything nice and good for your new year of life.
Congratulations!

Wonderful job and I join with BasketKase and Ibrow with my opinion about Loving your shawl pin- It is perfect for the color and style of the shawl, not sure you could have chosen better! Glad you had projects to complete and enjoy on your holiday, Hope they all turned out this well and hopefully the completed projects were able to opened up a bit more space for you to have more projects to be working on. Superb Mrs. Moderator Spendlove. Clearly, you were busy whilst away on your trip into the British wilderness. Now, you wouldn't have got that done would you, had you had ready access to the internet? My envy of your unlimited skills will be particularly obvious when I tell you that I have just realised that I have made an unmitigated disaster of the project that I've been working on and am now back at my drawing board as I type!! No laughing now, you lot!

Thank you ladies for your kind thoughts and welcome.

Dennis, I see that we have failed to mention to you that we don't advertise those things that just don't come out right. Only the perfectly finished ones. We'll not laugh........this time.

dennis999 by dennis999 28 May 2016

A kind thought Mrs J.....................but I sense some sniggering going on in the background. Don't worry, I did eventually come around to be able to laugh at my own woeful errors. Also, I'm starting on a special diet soon which is specifically aimed at reducing the size of oversized fingers...................mine keep getting in the way of each other..................yet another excuse out in the open! LOL

It looks beautiful as well as warm and cosy. Did you shape the top of the sleeves? I love the yarn you used!

The tops of the sleeves are shaped. I couldn't resist the yarn when I saw it. It was a clearance line and there were only 3 200g balls mores the pity.
