Panic over. I just moved the furniture again and found it!

Thanks for your help and sympathy.

Desperate! I've lost the little black thingumijig which sits in the Kam snap pliers where the pointy part sits. If only I knew what it was called, I could perhaps find a replacement without having to buy new pliers. Can anyone help?

No money, I'm afraid. Him indoors was engrossed and oblivious!

Happy to see that you found your missing die, (also known as a thingumajig), but if happens again you can buy the missing part from Kam Snaps. I somehow managed to crack one of mine so when I ordered a new one I ordered two because the shipping for one piece cost as much as the part did and the second one did not raise the cost of shipping. I knew it was just a matter of time when I would need that second one.

Sorry to hear that...if you buy new pliers, you will surely find the die that is eluding you at the moment!

Dear Mrs. UK Moderator (The Other Half),
Knowing nothing about Kam Snaps and even less about scissors, I'm not sure that I can be of little help. Mind you, references to 'thingumijigs' and 'pointy parts' doesn't help much either! Nonetheless, I did Google Kam Snaps and came up with the following, which may help (no promises though). The first in the list is in the US but they do make reference to the availability of various parts, etc. The latter two references are to UK based outfits but make no reference to the availability of parts:
www.kamsnaps.com/Dies-for-Pliers-New-Style-p139html
www,kamsnaps.com/metal-snaps-C12/
www.kamsnaps.com/metal-snaps-C13/
www.facebook.com/KAMsnapsUK
www.kamsnaps.co.uk

Hope this is not sending you off on a wild goose chase.

Thank you, Dennis - very kind of you to search. I have also been googling and I think the part which is somewhere om my sewing room floor is a die. However, they don't seem to be available for the pliers I have (the sort for the plastic snaps.) I think it may be easiest to buy another set of pliers. They come with four dies in different sizes, so an alternative might be to buy some snaps for the sizes of die I still have!

Can you contact Kam Snaps for a new part? They must know what it's called. Sorry I can't help.

If I can find mine your welcome to borrow as no sewing room means no sewing. I could post Tues so if your lucky it will be with you Wed.
