I quilted ith then I made the circle & then turned it into this catch all bowl. I added binding & it can be reversible if you want it to be. Kind of a new twist on the box we made awhile back. Thing is I made 2 but I had so much trouble trying to gather into a circle I gave up on the 2cd one. There must be an easier way to gather all around the circle to pull it tight? I tried lengthening my stitches no good I tried using the gathering stitch & I even tried using invisible thread in the end I stitched it by hand & then added the binding. Any tips on how I can do the next one? the Sulky thread was on clearance @ JoAnn's for .97! If I had know I would have bought them all lol the sign said 50% off $5.97 but they rang up @ .97 cents

thank you all so much, a tip that I was given is to stitch a zigzag long stitch over a shoelace & then pull the ends of the shoelace to draw the fabric into a circle. I will give this a try. ~hugs~

or use dental floss as your pull string, it's thinner and strong.

Very pretty! What if you strung some thin elastic in the binding? Then, pull til you get your circle and tie it off? The picture shows it is perfect the way it is. LOVE it, what a nice and handy little bowl! *Hugs and Flowers*

Nice fabrics, not sure how you want to bring the sides up. Could try putting a circle of stiffening or plastic circle piece from an ice cream lid or other light plastics you have on hand, in the centre to form a base . Then pull in the edge with small running stitches by hand. Hope this helps you in some way. Sandra.

Try pinning 8 darts about 2 inches deep and see how it sits.
Think of it as a clock and start at 12 then 3 then 6 and 9. then put a dart 1/2 way between these which will make 8 in total. Should make it sit up. Adjust the length of the dart if it is too long or too short.

Love the idea, but cannot help with regard to tightening other than maybe putting elastic around the edge to bring it in tighter. Love Chris
