I am not sure I like this ageing process. This morning I had to cancel mine & hubby's hair appointments for the 2nd time. Mine due to having sciatica again and cannot sit long enough to drive the 50 minute trip in and out of town plus the time sitting at the hair dressers. Hubby's due to having to take the car to be serviced at one end just out of town and the hairdressers having just moved out of town in the opposite direction. He has his leg still in bandages after having a couple of skin cancers dug out 6 weeks ago and is not suppose to be doing a lot of walking. We were hoping to take 2 vehicles so we could drive from one place to the other. We may just have to become hippies and tie our hair back. lol

Been doing that a while now. I always considered myself a wannabe. since the driving force of the time was over.

Getting old is not always fun, but better than the alternative. I hope your sciatica disappear soon so you can enjoy the blessings of being old(er) again.

Yes I agree the alternative is not good. We must make the most of the time we have left. Hugs

Thanks. It is feeling better today after resting yesterday and letting hubby take the car in for a service without me. Hugs

Sometimes it's a pain in the rear and sometimes it's elsewhere, but hey, we've got a new day here. Go do something good.
My phone really wrecked this post.
I do hope your sciatica becomes a thing of the past sooner and not later. I feel ya. ;)

Yes life is sometimes a real bummer. I must try to get back to the sewing machine. My Auntie is turning 100 next month and I want to make her a special purse. Hopefully my 1st ITHoop one. I have bought some pretty rose fabric for the lining so that may spur me on. Hugs

I agree getting older has a lot to answer for.. Hopefully things will settle down soon and you both can on with your life.

Oh Shirley. My DH always says 'getting old is not for sissies'. I think he is right.

I guess we all have to get old some time. I was saying to hubby when we were sitting in the car at the Hospital the other day "we start life learning to walk on a walking frame and finish needing one to help us walk at the end of our lives." Oh well such is life lol Hugs

Oh! Shirley, I can empathise with you re the sitting in the car. I agree with the others, you need to get a hairdresser closer to you, or cut your own hair! It's not that hard really. I do hope your back gets some relief soon and that your husband's leg improves asap. I hope you are keeping warm down in Tassie, I see the temps are pretty cool at the moment. Love Chris

I have been thinking of you with this pain. This is the 2nd bout for me. Good hairdressers are hard to come by. I have tried a couple closer with no luck. It has been cold down here but we are keeping warm with the wood heater burning 24/7 Hugs

I am with you. This aging thing is for the pits. I hope you feel better pretty soon and you husbands legs heal fast. Ponytails are fashionable. :-)

Thanks, I'm not sure about ponytails being fashionable for 72 & 78 year old though. Perhaps we could start a new trend. Hugs

Shirley, I do hope you get relief from your pain and be able to do the things you want and need to do. If you'd trust me and we lived close, I would cut both of your hair. I hope your husbands leg is healing nicely. Maybe you need to start looking for a closer hairdresser.........

Thanks toogie I would trust you to cut our hair. I hope hubby's leg will heal quicker now we have the District Nurse coming in 3 times a week. Should have been told of this service 6 weeks ago. Hugs

You gotta find a neighbor close by who cuts hair! Life is too short to tie up that much time with hair! And, if you're like me, once you get to town, you tire out easily and only get half the errands done you used to. So frustrating after spending the gas and setting aside the time! Today we have been on a rout (no e, rout) to two different far away towns on once a year and once in a lifetime errands and I'm sooo tired from all that sitting in the car almost 6 hours, much in heavy traffic which we are no longer used to! It is all accomplished and thank goodness. Never was a hippie but have tied my hair back....

What a wonderful and simple idea.

Glad you only have to make that trip once a year. I guess it gets harder with each year though. Hugs
