I just love this little crazy quilt purse from Kreative Kiwi. It is done with 3 panels for each side and the panels are connected in the hoop. It comes in a 5x7 and 6x10 size, but I am limited to making the 5x7 size. Finished Size – 5X7 Hoop – Width 10.5-inch Height 6.5 inch. For the handles I used an old braided belt that I picked up at a thrift store because I knew I would have a use for it someday. I may still add some kind of closure but I don't know what I want. Maybe just a Kam snap. The pattern only used the patchwork on one side but I made two panels so front and back both look the same. For the bottom I used a stippling pattern from my files to make the bottom quilted too. The pattern for the lining does not include pockets but I need pockets so I added two pockets to the inside.

I come from a very large family and we learned how to recycle long before it was fashionable. For me it has been a way of life. I am the oldest in my family but I had two cousins that were older than me. I would be so excited when they got a new dress because in a few years it would be mine.

I think families had to recycle after the war because things were in short supply.I use to go through my cousins clothes to see what I would get in a few years time. Also the full skirts of my mothers frocks were turned into dresses for me by my grandmother.

It's turned out beautifully Teresa. I love crazy patchwork patterns - you've nailed this one. I like pockets inside bags too and wish I'd done them in the ones I made for the ladies last year. Love Chris

Lovely bag and lovely fabric choice. Great idea to make two fronts and add a quilted bottom. I too have some belts saved for a project like this.

It is wonderful and has so many good ideas. I like the idea of a quilted bottom if not vinyl.

Sometimes I find ugly purses in the bargain bin at the thrift store that has neat hardware on them so I get them and remove the hardware for a someday project.
