Yesterday was not a good day. Poured with rain and we both had to go to the doctor's a 55 minute drive each way. I have to have keyhole surgery on my left knee to clean it out. Also Physio on both knees and go to the pool for hydro therapy. Hubby has to go to the Podiatrist. He is still having the District nurse coming in 3 times a week to dress the 2 wounds on his legs, with weekly trips to the Specialist Clinic 50 min drive each way once a week.

Last Monday when he went to do the weekly shopping a lady (not what I am calling her under my breath right now) ran into the front of our car and did quite a bit of damage. We took it in to have the damage assessed on our way home yesterday and it looks like it will be written off. Not what we had planned. We intended buying a new Automatic car and keeping this one as a second car, but looks like a new one and a another secondhand one now. I am not a happy chappy at the moment.

Update
Just had a call from the Insurance company letting us know the next move. They are holding off processing the claim until after next Tuesday so we can use the car to go to the hospital. By then I hope the new car we ordered yesterday will be available.

No Carolyn life has not been much fun down here for the past 6-8 months. Things can only get better. I hope. Yes I will be smiling when I drive the new car out of the Car Yard, but it would have been better had it been under the circumstances we had wished. New car & old car. Hugs Shirley

Yikes! That is a tough schedule to keep. And now the car added to it all. I'm so sorry, but it sounds like you are working your way out of it all. Keep putting one foot in front of the other and know we Cuties have you and your hubby on our prayer lists.

Sure is hard to try to work around nurses visits and the Dr wanting us to have other appointments. To make it worse we had bad floods here a couple of weeks ago. It did not affect us personally but part of the road we need to travel over got washed away and is being repaired. These repairs will take quite a long time. It is not all that long since they had upgraded that section. We are not keen on taking a new car over the rough part so will detour which will make the trips to our local town a little longer. Oh well such is life. Hugs

Oh dear Shirley, and the car on top of everything else. I had keyhole surgery on my left knee years ago. It is a wonderful op and I was back at work (desk job) just a few days later. Hope that your medical problems will soon be a thing of the past and that you enjoy your new car. Hugs from South Africa.

Many thanks. We did not need the car problem at this stage but least no one was hurt, Cars can be replaced but not people. I hope my Op will be as successful as yours. Hugs

I hear ya Shirley! I'm so pleased at least you are getting something done about your knee. I was sorry to read that your husband is still having dressings done 3 times a week! Sound like he is a slow healer. I'm sorry about your car too, that is such a drag especially when you live so far away from the amenities you need to see. Hope everything turns alright for you in the future. Love Chris

Thanks Chris. Life has been just hectic the past few weeks. Not knowing just what time of the day the nurse will arrive we can't organize other appointments. Thursday is the only day we have free so to speak. Because the wounds being on the leg, the doctors say is why it is so slow healing. Hugs Shirley
