Very nice, especially for your first try. I like your color anddesign combinations.
Such delightful coin purses you've done& they made up nice with these colors too. Thanks for sharing your work, :~D
You did a great job! Isn't it great to do new things with your embroidery machine?! I make myself do something new every month and learn so many techniques and still I cannot do half of what my machine is capable of doing. Keep it up!
I was so afraid of zipper type also until I tried Fatima's zip purse. Went so smoothly but I ended up stitching the lining wrong--as someone said--a learning curve. I have not made it again though but will. Creative Machine Embroidery has a freebie download for a usb stick holder by Lisa Archer also--I think free until August. Instructions are on YouTube and in that magazine. There is just so much keeping me from my machine right at now. Black and white fabrics are always lovely. Great job.
Thank you for telling me about the Creative Machine one I looked at it before but only saw the page that said it cost $6.99 to buy. So I just downloaded it.
You are not the first one inspired by crafter2243! Your purses are lovely. I found that if I cut off the corners at a diagonal, making the closest part cut nearest the corner, it turned much easier.
Yes crafter2243 does some nice work. As do a lot of others that is why it is so interesting to see the projects.
I think I struggled with the small one because I used too heavy tear away and flannelette.
Everything is a learning curve.
For those of you who have not tried ITH zipper application there is really only one thing to keep in mind. Do not use metal zippers and make sure the zipper pull and the zipper stop are not positioned where you will be stitching. Other that that --easy-peasy.
Great job, I still have not mastered the zipper!!
If you do a ITH zipper the machine does all the work, you can't do it wrong. Sometimes I make quilt blocks into small pouches if I have no other use for the blocks. I even have an ITH file for doing a zipper if I am making a small bag that is not an ITH project.
What a clever idea using the zipper file for bags not in the hoop.
I had more problems with my tear away being too heavy than the zip.
These look great, nice little zipper purses. Love Chris
You have done a marvellous job with these they look terrific, I also have not yet tried these, but will make an attempt soon. Am on fsl butterflies to trim bags at there moment. Sandra.
look great with the addition of the key ring.
Thank you. I was sending it off to Daughter in Law in a parcel of stuff for grands. Thought she could hook it to key ring and pop coffee money in it.
Wow - that is really lovely work and you are brave. I hope to find my way some day too - just at the moment keen on FSL designs :-) Hugs Maria
Great work I have not plucked up the courage to try the zipper work yet will get there sometime
Thank you. Pick a day when you are alone and all is quiet and print out the instructions and do it step by step. You will enjoy it. believe me.
Sometimes we just need a bit of encouragement to try new things. They look lovely.
You did great. The first time my machine had to go over a zipper I almost turned blue holding my breath. Like Bevintex said......now you may have to stock up on zippers. Glad you had the courage
You have done a good job with them. Congratulations on doing something new for you/Lillian
Now you can try the bigger 5x7 size. You may need to stock up on zippers
Thank you. Yes I am going to try the bigger size. Have a box full of zippers but too many are metal. Will have to sit and sort through and bag them separate.
Found a shop near by that sells up to 9 inches for 70 cents each and above that I think was 90 cents. All nylon zips just 2 price points.
They look pretty and as you discovered, nothing to be scared of.
oh i love them both have only made wee fobs no purse maybe i will try that next lol hugs
