This my current work in progress. To be honest I'm not sure I like it. (I've had the jelly roll for about three years and I love the colours and most of the fabrics, but there are a few really random ones in it. Also, they are not all cut very straight.))

Anyway, I have now made sixteen squares (in batches of four.)
Do I, a) leave them in the groups of four as in the first picture, b) mix them up as in the second picture or c) not make any more and make the 16 blocks I have into an (enormos table runner)?
The blocks are about 20cm square, and ready to be stitched together by hand.

it looks terrific Sue! A very versatile block that you could make into anything you like even a wall hanging quilt..............this list goes on lol ~hugs~

Love the cross design and fabric. Is the design on the cross embroidered on or a design on the fabric? Thanks for sharing.

The Paisley is part of the quilting design.

Thanks to you all - I have decided to keep going. The finished quilt will have zig-zag edges like the runner - and there is no need for binding with this method!

Wow, now that will be a lot of hand stitching to put these together for a quilt!

Relaxing though!

Personally I prefer the top one and the runner. Not my colours, although it looks great altogether. Love Chris

I love, love, love the table runner. I do have to say, I am very jealous of your floor tiles. (I hope they are floor). The rectangular tiles are stunning. Great job on both. :)

It is annoying when the fabrics are not cut correctly, but you sure made a nice project out of them anyhow! I like your colors too. Sort reminds me of fall.

To me they are the colours of spices.

I like the table runner. Of course it depends if you would have a place for it.

It would just about fit my table, but I think I'll carry on with the quilt, it will have the same sort of edges.

I like the order (I don't usually do random) of the top one apart from the dark brown rune in the top right one - still has negative connotations.
The second is superb.
The table top looks lovely but the question might be, given the size (about 28 by 84 cm?), where to put it.
Fab block!

I have problems with random - if you look closely you will see my "mixed up" blocks still have a pattern. Funny, but that dark brown shape doesn't really show until you take a picture!

spendlove by spendlove 19 Jul 2016

The table runner would be about 165cm x 56cm.

mops by mops 20 Jul 2016

Yes of course, I used 20 cm as the block size and overlooked that you use 4 of them for a "flower".
