You need prayers and you have my deepest prayers. I had them around my midsection and could not stand the pain. They are nothing to be taken lightly God bless hope you feel better quickly God Bless Always Ronny
Jerrilyn apologies for not commenting earlier. ( I've been having computer issues) Shingles is horrible and something I wouldn't want to inflict on anyone. I had it in my hand at the start of my summer holidays one year. Very glad to hear you were able to get medication at a early stage. Take it as a warning and slow down and cut out the stress. Positive thoughts and a hug coming your way from the UK
Just got back in town and read this - Yikes, shingles are suppose to be so painful - so sorry! I looked into having the shingle vaccine about a month ago and found out even with my insurance it would cost me about $250. Hope you get relief quickly - Hugs to you, Laura*
I'd gladly pay $250. I had the vaccine and it's supposed to lessen the pain. Can't imagine what it'd be without it.
OH DEAR! I believe they are very painful! I hope you can start the treatment and healing process very quickly. hugs n blessings, Meg
Yes, they are painful. Luckily I had the vaccine and got a "milder" case that I would have gotten without it- so I'm told.
Oh how terrible for you. hopefully you recover quickly and have no lasting issues to deal with.
Prayers and hugs coming your way for a very speedy recovery and less pain. Shingles are very painful. Hope you are much better after starting meds. Hugs, Barba
They have stopped popping up at least, so I believe I'm on my way to recovery. Thanks for the prayers and hugs.
Jerrilyn I am praying that the Lord bless you body with a healing mirace. May he curse this disease at the root and bring forth TOTAL HEALING!!! In Jesus Matchless Name!!! What God has begin. He SHALL FINISH!!! GOD IS ABLE!!! AMEN!!! <3 <3 <3
Oh the pain of it all. My prayers are with you also.
Oh come on, Jerrilyn, I have heard of sympathy pains, but you went too far.........I am so sorry to hear of this and pray for a speedy recovery......is there some kind of anti viral meds for this?
So grateful you can see an up side to what you are dealing with, it does help when you are able to see some sort of blessing when you are still suffering. Continued prayers. Hoping I never need to deal with having them. I also hope you can have comfort this Sabbath day. Just thinking of all our Savior endured in feeling the pains and afflictions that afflict every person is mind boggling and very humbling to say the least. How very grateful I am to him for all he did for each of us. Take care and have a blessed day. Hugs again, Pam
You are so right about finding the light in any situation. Thank you for your prayers and I pray you never have to find out. I wouldn't wish these on anyone.
I'm grateful for what happened on the cross. Actually grateful doesn't cover it for what I feel. There's an unbelief almost in the total scope of what He would endure for me. It swells my heart to be loved so much.
I hope your day is blessed, too Pam and thanks for the hugs and note, and prayers.
Jerrilyn
I had the shingles vaccination, so my case is not as severe as it could be. It circles from one side of the back of my neck to the other, so that's not where clothing would rub and that's another good thing. I was at my doctor's office 4 hours after I felt the first cluster break out and was prescribed medicine. It's very painful, but not excruciating. I know that I'm one of the lucky ones. Ask your doctor about the vaccine if you haven't already had it. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Thank you everyone for your prayers. I feel so blessed.
so sad for you, in m prayers for a speedy recovery
hugs
Michelle
Very sorry to hear that, Jerrilyn Hugs and prayers for you and my best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Hugs, Lidia
Thanks, Lidia. I love hugs, just ask my family. They even warn their friends that they will hugged when introduced to me. :)
Thanks for your prayers, they are coveted.
Goodness me Jerrilyn, how did you get Shingles? I do pray that you will have relief soon. I've heard they can be very painful. Love Chris
Chris, anyone who has had chickenpox has the zoster virus in their system and can have shingles. It generally breaks out due to stress, injury, and sometimes certain medicines.
You heard right.
This is not good news. Thinking of you Jerrilyn. Please keep us in the loop
Oh gosh, not good news, do hope you are not in too much pain. And you have a speedy recovery, with lots of prayers coming your way . Sandra.
Oh such bad news i do hope there not in your eyes????The med's sure help John **Will pray for you hugs Carolyn
No, praise God, they are only from one side of the back of my neck to the other. Yes, the meds help. Thank you for your prayers and I'm still praying for John.
Oh Jerrilyn I am so sorry. Hope you have been to Dr. . They can be so painful. . Ron had them several yrs ago but we got through them . My prayers are with you. Much love Lillian
Thank you Miss Lillian. I've got almost half of the medicine down, so hopefully I'm on the way to recovery. I was told the medicine should cut the length of them in half. I'm holding onto that.
My prayers are with you. Hope you recover soon. Hugs Shirley
Oh no. Praying for you. Hopefully you caught it right away and went to the doctor immediately. Praying that there is not too much damage and that the pain will go away soon
Thank you so much! I didn't wake up but once last night, so I hope I'm on the downhill side of this.
Prayers for you and John and all who get this affliction. I've been there too. Lucky me I had a mild case just around the bra line. Recommendations are to see your doc right away, they have some medication if taken right away that can lesson the symptoms. Then after 10 years, get a vaccination shot (and every 10 years after) to keep from getting them again. My vaccination was $200, but even a mild case I never want to go through that again. I was in my early 50's when I got them, so not a good thing to wait until you're 60 I stayed home and didn't wear a bra for at least a month. Of course, the worst place to get them is around the eyes. I pray John doesn't lose his eyesight.
I thank you for your prayers. I'm glad your case was mild.
I'm praying for John, too.
Oh my goodness! Hope it is not too bad. I am going to go get the shingles shot to prevent this. My mom had it bad years ago. Hope you see the doctor. Prayers are with you too!
Yes, get the vaccine as soon as you can. This is not something anyone would wish for.
Funny we had a long discussing about it at work in the week too. So sorry to hear that you now also battle with this horrible illness. Hope it is gone soon and not too painful. I also did not know you can get a vaccination against it. Will definitely inquire about it. I always understood if you had chickenpox you can get shingles as an adult.
I had the vaccine and it's said to make them less painful. I can't imagine what they feel like without the vaccine!
I am so sorry to hear that. Hugs and prayers!
My heart goes out to you. Shingles is a terrible disease to have. I hope you have gone to the doctor to get medicine. It will make your case less painful and of shorter duration. My prayers are going up as I type. Please keep us updated.
Is this sympathy shingles??? Hope its not a bad case, Jerrilyn... Get well very soon, Prayers for you! *Hugs and Flowers*
Oh no! Get to the dr. or walk in clinic now! They can give you meds to make it a lighter case. I sure do feel your pain!!
Clear your calendar and see the doctor. It can be a tough go. Certainly will pray for you - I've been there.
Oh goodness...so sorry to hear this...again...anyone over 60 please remember to get the shingles vaccination...prayers for you Jerrilyn,..
My insurance would not pay for it until I was 60, but it would be SO worth paying the steep price if it prevents all that pain.
Thank you, Kim
The insurance company says that most cases occur after 60 and that the vaccine decreases in it's benefits after 5 years.
