I bought a singer futura about a year ago, used it three times and packed it away and went back to purchase a brother which I love. The singer will be going to my granddaughter and she can practice on it, I was not impressed with this machine.
I love Viking machines, but you should go test drive any machine before you buy. Hugs. Nan W

Please do not buy a machine anywhere but at a local dealer. You will not get any support for the machine nor will you have a technician to keep your machine in perfect stitching order. You can buy a used machine at a dealer and get a great like new machine.
As 02kar has suggested, this is the soundest advice for you to follow. Meet the authorised dealer, test drive the selection of machines that meet your needs and budget and ensure that the dealer has the appropriate technician(s) available to resolve any future technical issues. Don't rule out second hand machines available from the dealership (there are some good deals to be had) but only entertain this way forward if the dealer is offering some form of warranty since this alone goes some way to justify the dealers trust in the reliability of that machine. Above all, don't allow yourself to be rushed into making an on the spot decision. Take your time and it will come right for you.
Unfortunately Singer quality has declined severely from the good ole days of dependability...I would steer clear of any Singer machine. My SIL had a Futura (not an embroidery one) and it gave her so much grief, she basically gave up sewing...I would suggest you look at BabyLock and Brother machines...
For every good comment about a machine there will be a bad comment. I don't have the machine you are asking about but I do have 2 singer embroidery machines. I love my machines. If you live in a area or near a area that has sewing machine dealers. Visit the store, look at different machines, ask questions, and watch the machines in action. Do online search for reviews and pros/cons on embroidery machines.
Thank you for the advice This time I will be listen to all of you. I can not buy a machine till I solve the problem. The last email the seller said to see pictures. and I did load more pictures even the box and the peanuts used in the packing. Praying that everything could be solved to my favor.Thank you all for your concerns
Singer has gotten a very bad reputation. I would not advise to purchase one. Hope you have gotten your money back on the machine you purchased from E-Bay
I've heard bad reports too of the Futura. Did you get your money back for that 'machine' someone thought they could unload on you?
I have read many comments on several sites from new owners of Singers that were very upset about the results from the machine and the frequency of repair time needed.
I have had very bad luck with the Futuras, I sent the last one I had back for a full refund, They seem to have problems with the timing. If you decide to buy one make sure you have someone who can work on them or you'll be packing it up and sending it to Tennessee for repair, I bought a brother machine and have been very happy with it.
After seeing the Singer operate at an embroidery class, I was so glad that I bought a Brother.
I had a friend who had the Singer Futura, not sure which model. She had nothing but trouble with it and finally just gave up trying to sew with it. No help from Singer either.
