I love them Carolyn.... I wondered about not using the whole towel...then you can make 2 out of it... looks good when you double stitch them. I wondered about using the serger on them and doing a roll him at the top of them then sewing them onto the potholder. You would know best though. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. :)
Very nice tea towels. When I used half of the towel. I topped the top with binding tape then sewed onto the topper. Worked well. Thank you for sharing. Happy Stitching
These are great, it's a double goodie, what with the nice pot holder for the top if you need to hold something hot and a towel at the bottom for wiping. Well done, love Chris
You have a bunch of good ideas. Now which will you go for? I have some like this with coordinating bias tape. Anything you do will look great I am sure./Lillian
They look great as they are Carolyn, if you want to cover the stitching , how about a matching strip of material sewn over the top to cover it.. Rick rack braid a good suggestion, or wide bias, or ribbon sewn towards a centre bow or knot. Sandra.
i think they look nice as they are but if you don't like seeing the stitching how about a covering it with a coordinating color of Rick Rack--that is my "go to" trim for perking up or covering up!!
That is an unique idea! I always like the new ideas you bring to us!
I don't think you would even have to sew a small hem, just gather the cut edge and stitch it down onto the potholder. Then flip the towel over the seam and stitch it again, encasing the raw edge and cutting down on the bulk the hem would add. But however you do it they look very nice.
Yet another innovative idea......these look great and in a pinch can still be used for a hot pot.......
A little more work but you could cut the potholder in half and sandwich towel in between. It looks good the way it is though. They are very pretty! I have some potholders like that also that I got to make scissors holders out of. Haven't made them yet, so you gave me another good idea. Hugs, gail
