So beautiful!! A lot of stitches but so worth the time you spend on it.
Thank you. True. It would have taken me lot longer to hand crochet this theme.
That's almost an Olympic Event... Love the outcome. Marian
Worth the effort and problems, it is beautiful. Your sister will love it. Sandra.
Beautiful, beautiful!. Worth all your problems/Lillian
I am in awe!!! 5 Hours!!!! I don't think I would have endurance for this. I was going to say I'm speechless but nope, every great adjective you can think of is what I am thinking. Masterpiece for sure. And here, I finally made myself just today stitch out a little tiger design on what will be a burp cloth or taggie blanket and it had only a little over 11,000 stitches. Tiring sitting at the machine but yes, little mischievous fairy always makes the machines stop from thread breakage or out of bobbin.
The nice thing about FSL that it "should" stitch out once hooped without further help. I try to have not to many color changes for that reason. That frees me up to do other things like straightening out my craft room, Ha, ha.
WOW! Angie this is absolutely stunning. I'm so glad you persevered with it and I know your Sister will be thrilled with it. Well done, my friend. Love Chris
This is beautiful. As others have said, I have not ventured into anything that big yet. I thought the 75 minute one I just finished was big. I agree with you, I work on my quilts when I stitch out large designs or fsl. Fantastic work.
Thank you. This was my first one for that large hoop. Not sure if I want to repeat it.
Beautiful but wow that one very expensive piece of lace. If you factor in you time per hour. Just for fun , take the min. wage for where you live and multiply it my 5.
Doesn't the commercial say Priceless !
My selling days are over, so I do it for the pure enjoyment of creating. For many years I owned a yarn shop and learned then, that I barely or never made the minimum wage knitting for a customer.
That is a great stitchout! I don't know if I have the patience that you have. I've often thought of moving my machine to where I could watch tv while stitching. What inspired you to take on such a wonderful project?
I got hooked on FSL once I did my first angel. This has been one of the biggest projects I have done. Sister wanted window decorations and I fell in love with this design. I usually sew at the same time since I am lucky enough to have 2 machines side by side.
It's gorgeous! Sorry you had so much difficulty during your stitchout, but it was time well spent. Great result.
Nicely done! I, too have this design, but have not ventured into stitching it yet...nice to see it done! Great job!
Wow, this is gorgeous.......loving the border color.......very complimentary to the design......
149105 stitches ! I think I never sewed a design with that many stiches ! ...5 hours.. did you stay all the time close to the machine ?... But for sure the result is super !! your sister will love it... and maybe ask for one more.
Oh yes I stayed close to the machine. That Baby knows when I step away and will get into mischief. Partly I was sewing on the current quilt.
Oh! I thought I was the only one who's machine only acted up when you were out of the room.
Gorgeous! Where did you get the design? Was there a smaller version? I did an afghan for my daughter years ago with a filet crochet design similiar to this. What a treasure.
The design is from ALINALIN and yes it is available in smaller versions. It is then done in different files and the borders get sewn on. I think this is the first time I used this large hoop. BTW it is $ 1.00 right now at Secretsof
Very pretty! Wow, 5 hours. You must really love your sister. I now that she will be delighted with it. Great job! hugs
Yes I do and I am so looking forward to seeing my siblings at the end of the month
Very Nice!! I love doing freestanding lace type projects.
My favorite thing to do while sewing or cleaning my craft room. A never ending project.
