Beautiful fabric.I find it is less stressful ,when sewing elastic into a garment with a overlocker,is to divide the elastic & garment into eights or quarters depending on how wide it is,pin it & then tack it into place with a contrast thread.Remove the pins ,overlock & remove the tacking thread.
It takes a bit more time but the result is perfect ,no pricked fingers & definitely less stressful
Thanks :) I had no issue with the 10mm leg elastic, it was just the fiddly 6mm neck elastic.
late night sewing does not help.
A wonderful job with this, it looks fantastic. What beautiful material you chose, you GD will look stunning in her new outfit. Sandra.
Excellent I always love seeing your sewing
WOW! Karen what fantastic fabric. I find that the most challenging to get. I bought a whole lot from Spotlight 2 weeks ago in more like a velvet black and silver, but not sure if it will be o.k. Got some Gold and Lilac and some pink. Goodness knows when I will do them. Dana loved them! I didn't show the girls as I know what they are like, can we have now Nanna? he he he! I agree with you re putting on the elastic - not easy and on Aqualina's I used that clear plastic elastic and it's not easy to manipulate. So I used normal elastic and quarter marked it and then quarter marked the neckline, it was then much easier to see where each section sat! Fabulous job on yours, well done. Love Chris
Thanks Chris, Sophie picked this fabric out herself from "Boo Designs" she is an Australian pattern designer and she also sells spandex. The leotard is a pdf pattern that she just released this week.
Beautiful. Did the blue come with the fairy or did you add this separate? Fantastic job either way. Great match to the sleeves.
The fairy is a spandex panel, and the back and sleeves are spandex also. I ordered them from Boo Designs along with the pdf leotard pattern that was just released this week.
Wowzer! I want to be able to do this! Darling leotard.
You have done a fantastic job. Your GD will love it
