I'm with Dennis and Barb, rolling hems annoy the heck out of me and I would much prefer them straight. I would be always pulling it down to try and unroll it. Whatever you do will be fine with whoever buys it anyway. Love Chris
I would prefer the flat hem to me it looks unfinished rolling up.
I like the roll hem. Have only used it on necklines myself, and - alas -it would never flatter my hips :(
By the way, I was about to send you a PM about blocking, especially those loosely knitted items, but I now know you block. My problem is something large enough for large items.
I hear you on the large items.....I try to use my "womannequin" when I block, but the larger items are too long for it.....
Using a dummy is a great idea. I am about to finish a child's vest. I'll block it on me "childequin" it might do wonders for the neckline. Thanks for the tip!
You betcha, Martine.........it sure makes it easier to control..... I just hit it with lots of steam and let the pinning and form do the rest!! I have yet to invest in one of the blocking boards...frankly I have so much "stuff" storage would be an issue......have to pare down as it is for moving to AR.....that house doesn't have a basement so all of us (kitties included) have to leave some stuff behind.
I'm commenting way, way out of the box here but I'm with queenofhearts on this one. Definitely go for the flat hem.
I have a pair of shorts that have a hem that rolls and when I am wearing them I am constantly trying to straighten them out so for my personal preference I would want the hem flat. But whatever you decide will please some and not others.
I agree with the shorts......I would fidget with the shorts too (and undies)..LOL!
i like the rolled hem too, it goes with the style of the tanky.
Hugs,
Gabi
The younger and flat bellied ladies will like the rolled bottom. If most of your clientele is younger, I would go that way.
