I echo the comments of others. Sometimes we are far too hard on ourselves. If this isn't loved just the way it is, and made with love, then something is wrong with the recipient and not the shirt. It's adorable!
This is just adorable! I know your grandson will love it!
Well i love it and would like one on my shirt only an elephant lol hugs
I think it is so cute. I thought it looked like ribbon for the mane but read again you used fleece. Doesn't look like it needs a press to me.
It looks great, Loralye...I am sure he will love it! Like the variegated thread you used too!
Thanks Kim I like that one quite a bit & thought it would give a better effect then reg thread. ~hugs~
No Loralye don't scrap it, it is wonderful. I thinks it looks terrific, and i am sure your grandson will love it to. As it is made by his very clever Gran, it is a very cute design, and beautifully done by you. Sandra.
ah Sandra you are so nice to say so. I will try for a picture when he gets it. ~hugs~
Since you were trying for the shoulder, maybe you should have settle for the neck opening, if that was easier. I think, fortunately for all of us, kids aren't so critical of our work. I think he will be too excited to judge placement. Wish him a Happy Birthday! and relax, it's fine.
I saw another Cutie had posted a shirt with the head and body designs like this. They are really cute BOTH of them, yours and hers!
thank you Toogie I don't think I could do a nice job putting the ribbing back so I didn't take the shoulder seem apart. Applique hut is full of fun designs & this was one of them
It looks very nice. How did you get it as close as you did? I have this trouble as well.
Loralye, It is so cute. I love it. You did a great job and I would have thought that it was done just like it was supposed to be if you hadn't said anything. Hugs and blessings, Gail
This is on my list to make (for me!). I hope mine comes out as nice as yours
Hi Loralye, your grand-son will love this camouflage t-shirt and I think he will wear it with pride, because his Nanna made it! Cute adaptation of the Giraffe's mane! I'm sure it will be worn often and commented on by everyone who sees how clever you have been in getting him into the position. Great work, love Chris
I don't know of anyone who receives such a nice gift and then takes a ruler to measure placement. People love embroidered gifts. We see what we call "mistakes" and the receivers see the beauty in the gift. In short words, it's great and he will love it. Very cute.
thank you all for your supportive words I was worried it didn't look good. been sitting here trying to figure out if I should scrap it & try again. after reading your comments I will leave it be thanks so very much
