Hi! I'm wondering about Metro embroidery thread. I've heard a lot of good things about it, and I'm looking to buy some. I was wondering if anyone that has a thread color chart can tell me if the colors are consistent with the thread chart when you get them? I'm curious because I've been buying from ThreadArt for years, and everytime I order a particular color #, it ends up being a different shade of the color each time. One time it will be a darker shade...the next a lighter shade, but never the same color unless it's in the same batch/order. Very frustrating when you are looking for a particular shade to match a fabric! ;) So, has anyone had this kind of problem with the Metro brand? Or are there colors consistent from order to order (like Sulky is)? Also, for those of you with a Brother PE770 does it work well for you? Any help would be very much appreciated! :))

I always use Metro, but when you order, be sure to order a lot. The price is very good but the postage is around $12. I use the 1100 spools so I wait for a sale and order a lot to make it worth while. I haven't noticed anything with the dye lot. Usually don't have time to embroidery like I want to.

I have a Brother PE770 and I use Metro threads all the time. I have had trouble with just a couple of the smaller spools from the last time I ordered but for the most part my machine likes their thread. I do not have their color chart so I just pick what I think looks like the color I want. I buy basic colors in the 5000 meter spools.

I have been using Metro for about six years...I love it...I have found the colors to be very consistent from order to order...also use their pre-wound bobbins and stabilizer...also needles...I usually order when they have a sale...just got a new order in yesterday...I have a BabyLock Ellisimo Gold and have never had a problem with their threads...I do not care for the Sigma brand...it is not as shiny and I do not like their spools...I have all their 5,000 meter spools and the 1100 meter spools for the colors that don't come in the 5,000 meter size...

Awesome! Thank you so much! :) I will also look at their other items when I purchase thread. I'm very excited to hear that it is shiny, as well. I really love the look of Sulky thread...it's my favorite and works the best in my machine, but it is very expensive. Hoping that Metro has some similar colors, so I can use those instead. :) Thanks again everyone for your input! :)

Yayyyy!! So glad to hear that they are the same color from order to order, and that they work well in Brother machines. :) Thank you so much everyone for your responses! I really appreciate it. :))

My Brother Quattro loves it as well. I ordered last year and some a couple of months ago and the colors seem consistent. I have also started ordering the large cones.

My brothers love it (PE780D and Quattro). When I have added more spools of colors I use alot of over time they have matched nicely between the new and old spools.

I have ordered from Metro several times for my Brother machines.--and almost always when they have a sale. So many beautiful colors. And I love their pre wound bobbins--I just never wind my own. You should try a few spools of their poly colors when there is a sale. I use a Brother color chart and the numbers don't match, but I just "eyeball" it or choose a color I like for the design.

That is awesome to hear that it works well in your Brother machines! :) Do you find that the thread colors are pretty consistent from one order to the next? Or do you have to worry about the thread color being different each time you order?

I had that happen with pink Sulky. I also went to buying larger spools.
Right now I am using Florini. Really like the sheen. Rarely break a thread.

Unfortunately I am no help. I bought all their large cones and did not have the need to re-order, other then white, black, red and a off white. Maybe others will be able to help you. From my experience as a former yarn shop owner dye lots are never exactly the same from one batch to the other.

Hi and welcome. I haven't used Metro but have heard some excellent reports about it. I'm in the UK and seriously thought about getting some as another UK Cutie had and highly reccomended.
