Beautiful bag and so many great pockets and zips...
No one has mentioned it, but did anyone notice my 'Toogie' on the back? It's kind of hard to see, but its in photo 2.
I don't see it but is it the tag hanging off the zipper, can't tell if it says anything.
It's on the bag itself, opposite side from the zipper pull. Look on the right, under the corner of the zipper.
Toogie. This is just stunning. When I am in Honduras, I buy a purse with Guatemalan weaving. Now I think I will just by the woven fabric and make my own purse the way I want it. You are such an inspiration.
Do you buy fabric there, too? If you already know how to sew, put together a pattern, then purse making isn't hard. I hope you give it a try. My friend loves it! Thanks for looking.
Go to swoon.com and get free pattern for purses. Add all the pockets you want. hope I was aloud to put this web site on here. Sorry if not aloud.
My Granddaughters would love these!! You must have $5. or $6. in the zippers. Wonderful job! Kay
Kay, hasn't Bev told you about zipper deals? She must be slipping, although that's hard to imagine-lol-Thanks for looking.-Toogie
It seems zippers have gone up since I last bought them, the best prices I have found recently are on Amazon
I would like to know the best place to buy zippers. Please don't keep it quite. Please tell!
Toogie--I 'examined' all your pics close up--You are an expert bag maker/designer. This is a stunning bag. I love all the pockets and zips. All fabrics and ribbons blend so beautifully. Your daughter better hop to it and get her fabrics picked so you'll get 'er done. So wished you were my buddy next door!!!
That would be nice, wouldn't it!!!
The 'ribbons' aren't ribbons but fabric same as lining, little pokadot. I do like my pockets, but this is so small I didn't want to many inside.
Daughter brought me over some outer fabric she wants one out of. To me, it looks more for summer, but hey, what ever rocks your boat. (or hers in this case) I have the outer fabric all quilted, straps made. Everything is ready for zipps and lining. I want to finish and use what I have but I am waiting on her......a while anyway.-lol- I may just make it like I want to, with what I have.
I like this one, maybe I should try a bag. I have 3 that are kits waiting to be assembled.
Now Bev! three? Bags are easy, if you know how to sew already, and I'm sure you do. Whatcha waitin' on? What do they look like? Curious minds and all that-lol
I've got 1 project to make first, you could probably make 3 bags in the time it will take me to do 1
lol, funny-I just told my daughter if she wanted one, she better get herself over and choose her fabric, while I'm in the mood.
Lots of work here but so worth the effort. It is lovely.
Just a day well spent! I didn't have any distractions, so I was able to stay with it, from beginning to end. (Of course, I did stop to eat! I don't miss too many meals, although I should-lol) Thanks-Toogie
My initials are MAE, how soon can I expect delivery???? LOL!
In other words, I love it Toogie, you've done a fantastic job and anyone would be proud and very pleased to have one of your bags.
Hugs n roses, Meganne
Hey! So good to hear from you!
I'm glad you like my bag. I haven't made any in quite a while, I almost forgot how-lol-
Great bag, Toogie...you bring new meaning to the words "Bag Lady"...
It's been so long since I made one. I had been meaning to make me one and I really wanted something smaller, for my trip. Wa-la this is it!
Wow....Stunning!!!Awesome bag made...Well done..Great beautiful fabric!!!!
The fabric did make up pretty, didn't it. I didn't pay much a yard for it and wondered when I bought it what I would make, as I bought a lot of it. I think the monogramming really brought it out. Thanks Sonja
Wow, Toogie, what a great "designer" bag...love the fabric you used...
"Designer" made me laugh. I could call this 'sew as you go' as that's exactly what I did, with no pattern. Glad you like it-Toogie
Beautifully done, and the fabric was a great choice too. So many pockets to fill. What are the dimensions? Looks very professional!
Professional? Me? ...Thanks!...It ended up being 10 inches wide x 7 inch tall and has a 2 inch bottom. I want to just carry the bare minimum in it,(is there such a thing when speaking of a woman's bag?) but pockets for all.
I love it. Great job. Love the monogram too!!!
Welcome back again!!! Looking forward to those photos!!!
Thank you and I think the monogram really sets it off.
Toogie I always love your bags and this is great
lovely bag, you did a great job on this also love the colors.
This bag turned out sew nice, love everything about it. Inside looks great! Enjoy.
Toogie, you always do the most amazing things with a "simple" bag! This one is no exception - great job!
Hi Toogie, Your Bag is AWESOME. I just LOVE your choice of Fabric Colour, and the Style of Handbag.
Thankyou so much for sharing.

Lorraine this fabric was in my stash. When I got it cheap, I bought quite a few yards, not knowing what I would make of it. Even when I was sewing, I wasn't sure of the choice, but when the monogram was stitched, I really think it came to life. Thanks for looking-Toogie
I love it, that was a day well spent!
Yes, it was. My husband wanted to cook for us, so I'd be crazy, not to take that time to sew. It took me all day because I had to quilt my fabric first. Well, first I had to choose a fabric. It seems I waste more time picking out fabric or designs, do you do that?
O yes! Idea and preparation takes a lot of time, the it's just a matter of getting it done.
Toogie, I love this bag, and your choice of fabric! Did you have a pattern, or just your own ideas?
I call it my 'sew as you go bag', as it emerged, as I went along. I know I always want pockets, so just a matter of where and how many. I also like zip pockets, for security, but you have to have at least one open pocket for keys or such. Also, I wanted something 'hands free'. You can wear it on the shoulder if you don't like cross body, as it has an adjustable slider. I also like it to sit, while I pay at checkout, so I boxed the bottom. I think my aunt would like this but with a short strap, like a hand bag. Thanks for looking. Toogie
