Our daughter purchased a 'nest' for her first-born [she is now 18 years old!]. However it was filled with a natural fibre, something like fine plant material and tea tree. quite unique 18 years ago. Was supposed to prevent cot-death. I do love yours, Anita.
What a great idea - can imagine they would be really useful. You have done a fantastic job. Well done.
From the beginning the invention came from Finland. When babies were sleeping in their parents bed, they put the babies in a box . That was to sabe the children from their parents accidently laying over them. Then after the box came the babynest. The nests are very useful. You can put them in their big bed so you don´t have to buy a small one. And you can bring them with you and put them on the sofá when wathing TV. In teh nordic counties almost every parents get or make one for their babies. If you google babynest, you will find lots of patterns. And you can turn them around to use both sides.
You were asked because you do such a great job making them! I downloaded the pattern before, but never made one. I should make one for my great grandchild to be born, in a few weeks. ..What size it your foam?
I cut the foam after I have sewn the sean that is 20 cm from the border. i make a pattern and you have to cut the foam a bit smaller depending on how thick you have the foam. mine is about 1 cm thick and I have two lawers and I have quilt wadding around sawn as a pocket. hope you understand my explanation
I understand you well, but I meant to ask, how thick is your foam? I understand it has to be the size of the bottom, but I should have asked the thickness, not the size. Yours always turn out so great.
