Update (gee this is hard to type on my phone with these clumsy fingers of mine). Took it to the dealer and found out yesterday that they replaced the knife, bobbin case, and smoothed a burr in the bobbin area --she wasn't really specific on the phone where the burr was. I'm anxious to go get it in the next few days. Thanks to all for the suggestions--I think you all were right! What a great community!
Thanks for letting us know what was causing the problem and enjoy getting your machine back and having trouble free sewing
On the bobbin case were the tension button is unscrew it then screw it back in mine had fuzz there that i couldn't see??
Thanks for the update but sorry to hear that the shop was rather off with you. You the customer are their bread and butter so there is no need for that
I gave up and took it to the shop. Where they scoffed at me for taking off one of the plastic parts that cover the tension disc. Like I don't have a single brain in my head! Soo frustrating, but they're the only dealer within 3 hours of me.
That's some drive no need for him to be rude to you hope he did a good job sorting it out and didn't charge a lot
I recently had an issue with constantly breaking thread. [tho' not breaking needles]. Turned out to be a tiny teeny bit of plastic sticking up on the bobbin. so I threw that one in the bin, and all good. Do hope you get satisfaction soon.
If you take it to your dealer...before you turn it in for service, ask if you can try a new bobbin case...that may do the trick and if it does not, you are not out anything...
I had similar problem with my Brother innovis 750e last year and found the problem after it drove me mad for days I was tearing my hair out I did put the answer to my problem on here to help other cuties who might have the same trouble not sure if it is still on the site I will have a look and see if I can find it for you
I found your post about the thread catching in a little groove. When I'm not so mad at the machine, I'm going to look for a groove worn in mine. Thank you so much
So glad you found my post I looked and couldn't find it
Hope you soon get your machine up and running
I agree with Barb...try another bobbin case if you have one...sometimes when you break a needle, your needle can actually go right through your bobbin case and cause a burr on it...emery board can smooth it out...
Not sure if it is the age that matters, but rather the amount of sitches that it had done which is important with a machine. I guess if it keeps on giving you problems, you might let it check at a proffesional seller
check your bobbin case, especially on the little hook part, I carry a spare all the time they also can get rough edges and needs replacing. Even try gently rubbing it with a emery board.
Something that helped me when my machine was shredding thread - was to make sure my table was level. It made all the difference for my machine! Hope yours is as simple as that!! Good luck!
