Don't you just love it when you are happily stitching away and the power goes off. Luckily I was in the Corner of the Hoop so when the power came back on it was easy to get back to where I was when the Lights went out.

Used to hate when that happened. Now my Brother machine asks if I want to continue where I left off. I love it!

I have a brother but yours must be a better model than mine.

Last year we were have power outages every day. Thank goodness that has stopped. It is not very good for ones nerves when the power goes off and you are in the middle of stitching out embroidery

Power must have gone off again while I was sleeping as the clocks were all flashing again this morning.

well it's good you were able to continue the design.
My machine is well behaved haha, it asks me if I want to continue when it was stopped unexpectedly. it's a brother by the way. but it isn't always well behaved....he( or she?) hates it when I leave him alone while it's embroidering,..in that case he always does something that wasn't meant to be....breaking a thread, or just pulling everything together.....that kind of things

Must be Brothers. I can sit with mine for Hours and as soon as I get up to go somewhere and we do need to every so often, my machine will misbehave as well.

My Husqvarna has been misbehaving this week too,I have to only turn my back & it has managed to do something wrong. After a few days of messing the design up ,I surrendered & weeded the garden .It had a new needle ,bobbin case had been cleaned ,the design had sewn out perfectly before & the machine had been serviced in June.

You are so lucky. Here in Tennessee, a few years ago, we had an ice storm that knocked out our power for 8 days. By the time the power came back, I forgot what the heck I was sewing.... Silly me.

WOW!. I thought 16 hours without power was bad enough. I can understand you forgetting where you were at with your sewing.

have had our fair [or not really fair actually] share of Power outages recently. 3 major ones in September, once when the entire State of South Aust. went out at the same time and didn't come back for days. I out my old hand-turn sewing machine again......there is so little to do when the power is off!

I am also in Sth Aust. I have never had so many outages as I have had since the big storm before the Last. Trees down everywhere as the ground is so wet.

Whew! You were lucky! I have a battery backup surge protector I plug my machine into. It has about an hour of power if the power goes out. Enough to find a stopping spot! Also my machine will pull up where you were when the power went out. May want to check the protector. Worth the money,.

Power going off a lot here lately but it is all to do with the weather we have been having in Sth Aust over Winter and Spring. Has been really wet and Winder with trees falling as the ground is just so saturated.

this is the exact reason if you have made any changes to a design you should save to the machine before stitching. You never know when the machine will freeze of the power goes off. Hopefully you are able to sequence back to the power shut down. Good luck!! Kay

this is a very good practise.

I had saven to the Machine and easy to find again. Just love it when you are doing a dense design. That is when I mutter under my breath.

Isn't that fun? Your machine loves you so much it is giving you a special challenge to find the correct spot to continue with. They are sharing the love. Glad you could continue without too much trouble.

Sorry about your inconvenience Lyn. I'm lucky I'm that the Brothet machine asks me if I want to resume from where it stopped. I've had to turn the power off a couple of times recently as the squares I'm doing for my quilt are taking over 2 hours and I've had to go out. Luv Chris

Chris, Your Brother must be a better model than mine. The needle stopped where it was up to when the power went off. When it came back on I cut the threads and left a tail so I knew where I was up to and then when I forwarded it to that place Started again and then cut the excess threads. Luckily it was just in the first stitching of the Lace so it was eventually covered.

We have had so much rain and so many trees falling here. I was stitching Lace and just a small piece so it wasn't hard to find where I was up to.

Well that's not a problem that I have ever had but I do have my machine attached to a surge protector - just in case. Happy stitching and hopefully without any more hiccups
