Leaves!

The leaves have 3 parts and I'm planning to make 12. I was on #10 of the big pieces today and the thread broke/shredded like three times before I figured out that it was biasing and twisting back on itself. So I had to unscrew the pin from the thread stand and hold it sideways and help the spool out with turning on it for the rest of the stitches. No further thread incidents, but somehow a couple parts of the edge were off placement so theres places where the border isn't connected all the way. After that I decided I'd do one of the middle pieces instead of dealing with the orange thread anymore.

They are beautiful and the color orange is great looking. Some of my threads spools [most of them] hat horizontal pins. My machine came with a 3 spool stand but I have to remove the lid of the machine and don't want to keep doing that or leave it on permanently so I have a 10 spool stand I ordered years ago from ThreadArt. It sits behind my machine on the tall stand. I use that most all the time. When I go to sewing club I take my wooden stand that has vertical pin on base and a telescopic metal vertical piece with a hook for thread. I use that with my Husqvarna. They work perfect---but fiddle with threads just the same. Metallics are the worse for me--they want to coil or twist no matter which way I mess with them.

These leaves are lovely. Is this your usual brand of thread?

i have a big set of low quality thread from amazon and i guess i hit a part of the spool where that shows. when it comes off the spool laying down it still does it but not as much. I guess I'll deal with it for the last couple leaves then throw it away. it's pretty close to running out anyway

Lovely work and I look forwards to seeing the finished work. Is this something you have digitised yourself?
