I read how to adjust the bobbin tension once years ago and it worked. I am sure it must of been a regular sewing machine, however I did solve the problem. If it is not to far out of the way, I would take it back to the repair and show them what it is doing. I did not have the words last time, so I showed them, immediately she wrote down the technical terms for what I was trying to say. That was a win! and yes the top tension could cause the thread to shred!
Thank you. I am at my wits end and I dearly love this machine. It is a combination sewing/embroidery machine, and the sewing part is still wonderful, with no tension problems at all.
As a secondary comment...I adjust the top tension on my BabyLock Ellisimo all the time, depending upon the type of thread I am stitching with...the "default" top tension should be highlighted so you always know where to set it back...it's the bobbin tension on the embroidery bobbin case that I never touch...I also have separate bobbin case for specialty threads that I adjust the tension on depending upon what thread I am using in the bobbin...
All these years, I have never adjusted the tension before. When the service guy fixes it, he always does a test with both sewing and embroidery, but the embroidery is usually a circle or something simple on a very loosely woven fabric. I am so frustrated!
I would take the machine back to the tech as it should still be warranted. Usually they give you 90 days so you won't have to pay again. Adjusting the tension will probably not fix this problem. Hugs. Nan W
I bought a new pack of organ needles and started having that same problem. I then ordered another new pack and came to find out that the first set was not large eye needles. I thought they were, but no. I would try a new needle that is large eye to be sure. Sometimes they get mixed up. I hope ten million is not a lot of stitches because I am at seven million now.
I have been using Klasse needles and sometimes Schmetz, both of which I bought at the service place. I am so busy like everyone else is during this time, so finding the time to take it in is hard--takes a half day to go there and back. And there's so much I want to get done!
Sorry to hear this...especially since you just had it serviced...what does your service Tech have to say? Were you able to test it when you picked it up? I always try to do that, although sometimes it is not practical...but still I think important if you can...I would call the service tech first and see what he/she has to say...
I haven't had a chance to call him yet, but I'm going to make time tomorrow. Thanks.
I'm over 25 million. I wouldn't worry about THAT. I've been told the only time to adjust tension on a Brother is if you stitch very tiny lettering. They hold tensions very well. Maybe clean the bobbin area and try a different bobbin brand?;
I've cleaned and "bobbined" and don't know what else to do. It's gonna have to go back to the sick bay to get fixed I'm afraid. How frustrating.
