Lucy, take your time making decisions. You know what you absolutely need to keep. The rest divide into what you think you will use and get that pile put away. The rest of the stuff box up put somewhere and let it sit for a while. If you don't open that box or boxes in a couple of months, donate it to a cause you like. and if your room remains a bit crowded and messy, well that's OK. I always think if a sewing room is neat, it not being used. We love you and am so glad to know you are settling in.
I KNOW JUST WHAT YOU MEAN LUCY. I AM MOVING HOUSE AND I HAVE TO LET SOME THINGS GO. HARD TO DECIDE JUST WHAT TO KEEP. IT HAS TAKEN A LONG TIME TO COLLECT THESE PRECIOUS ITEMS. BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR SORTING. HUGS
Myself and my daughter are quite sentimental and remember what it was like to have nothing. When we moved several years ago we needed to let some things go to make space in the new house. I found a printable that really helped with deciding what was worth keeping and why we were keeping them. Maybe it might help you too
The peace will come Lucy. I know it was devastating to lose so much. Look at it this way. Those who get may be feeling exactly as you did and have nothing. You are in my prayers.
Bless your heart. I'm praying for you. Keep remembering that someone else can enjoy or benefit from your giving things. They will be grateful.
Keep remembering that you are giving from your heart and that spreads love. I know that you can do this. Breathe and takes breaks and do what you can along the way. I'm sending you hugs and tenderness and gentleness.
