I have a question of all you cuties who are participating in the Secret Santa exchange. What return address do you use so that your SS does not know who you are? Do you use your own and just leave off your name? Hugs. Nan W

I usually put someone else's valid address just in case it gets lost and needs to be returned. Could be a relative or a friend. On occasion, I have even sent an exchange within another envelope and had an intermediary send it on (cost covered by me, of course). It's such fun to be sneaky and keep them guessing!

I write "Secret Santa" at the back. That's all and give a big kiss on the present wishing it will not get lost. So far all good.

Now, you will have to change it or everyone will know you are the one that sent the package. :)

LOL!

..unless everybody now writes "secret santa" at the back...

OK. But you get to be the one to convince them all. ;)

I usually put the recipient's address on the return and if I know her phone number I will add that alongside her name.

A word of advice, NEVER add the recipient's phone number UNDERNEATH the address as the automatic postal machines read the last numbers for the post code/area code and it can cause mail to go totally to the wrong place.

We recently received a parcel with our street address, but being sent to Western Australia, we are in New South Wales, (the opposite side of the country, (compare Seattle and New York. or Montreal and Vancouver)) and all because the sender had added the recipient's phone number underneath the address and the last four digits were 2655. NSW postcodes start with a 2

Is adding a phone number something you do in Australia?

meganne by meganne 22 Nov 2016

Only on parcels and more often if sending overseas, freight and courier companies usually require the recipients phone number as well as the senders.

I do not put returning address and ask postmaster to skip stamping where from (small post office). I think it should be a secret.

A friend of mine leans over the counter and smears the post stamp as much as she can :)

My first SS was guessed by the recipient so now I put one of my daughters addresses on it. But I really don't mind if they want to know..

I never put one! Here in England there is no longer a clue where something has come from in the postmark either although I have posted my gifts from as far from home as possible, just in case.

Except for last year I have got friends to mail the gift from other countries. I had planned to do so this year also but time may run out as I am away from home and machines are packed up.

I put the recipient's name and address as the return address. That way the PO is going to send it the
re no matter what.

I have put SS & my address ,but if the person who is getting the gift knows where you live ,it makes it difficult.
