Overwhelmed trying to create a new sewing room. I took apart a larger bedroom and stashed it all over the upstairs. Yesterday the crew laid the new carpet. It's beautiful, but I plan to cover it up! Today I have begun hauling in tables and shelves and bins and boxes. Have put about 1/5 of the stuff in and it's about 1/3 full. (Get the picture? Should have given up the dining room which is larger!) I've been drawing it out for 3 weeks and so far, so good on the floor plan. Still have a bum knee, so I've quit for tonight. A little work each day - I think it will take about 3 weeks. Hopefully will get all the fabric and all the machines in one place. So exciting.

Update: 2 weeks since carpet was laid and I am all done except for moving in 2nd machine and comfy chair (tomorrow). Even I am amazed by how much fabric there is in that one room! The big lesson! I think I need to hunt up that design that says "I will not buy any more fabric. Then she laughed and laughed." Everything is stored in labeled plastic boxes and sorted by color and all that good stuff. The trick is going to be to keep it nice. Whew! Time for a cuppa something.

I am so jealous! My sewing room is an enclosed carport, and has rough brick on two walls. So I have to be careful with how I arrange things. I am thankful to have a room to work in, even though it is also the computer room, my husband's desk area, and other things.

Your knees must be in great shape! I'm still dragging myself down the hall and back. Son comes tomorrow to help me carry a cabinet up the stairs.

My new sewing room is also slowly getting there. This morning we went to the carpet shop and bought later in the day a carpet which we carried home. We only live 3 mins from the shop. Now my dear husband says he doesn't like the yellow colour of the walls... Right I'm now off to look at storage units to keep all my stuff

We finished my craft room earlier this year - it was a lot of work (and yes, we could all use even more room!) But, you will find, like I have - that every time I walk into it - I smile! I just love my new room to be creative in - you will love it!!!!! Hugs to you, Laura*

It is exciting! Amazing how much space boxes take up, isn't it. Have fun finding space for everything. I hope you manage to fit it all in and all in the perfect spot on the first try. I keep reorganizing to fit in more.

How very exciting!
I do hope you can fit all your "stuff" in.
I'm beginning to think that no matter how large the room is, we never have enough space in which to work, as we keep adding more "stuff"! LOL!!!
It should be wonderful for you when it is all fixed up.
Don't forget to share a photo or three with us.
Hugs n roses, Meg

I wish you the best of luck with your new sewing room. I hope you are happy with it when it is finished. Hubby has set up all the desks and tops for my machines in our new home. Trouble is I can't get in the room now for other stuff. Son called in this morning and asked where it was all going to go. I said I don't know. Like you I have a bum knee and can only do a little unpacking etc. each day.
